22br for accuracy

I've been shooting a 30" 6br on my savage action.,pac-nor).
I'm going to do another barrel now. I've been interested in the 22br since day one. All my shooting is short range on a bench.
Half of my 6br groups are under .250" now. Can I expect the same with the 22br. after load development? Are the twoclose accuracy wise at short range.
What twist? What neck dia. for a no-turn? Pac-nor list a .243 and a .246 neck. Is the .246 a no-turn?
Thanks... I'm starting to get excited about this.

TooTallOutdoors,

Based upon my experiences with the 22BR I'd recommend the caliber. I've been shooting a 40X in that caliber and also have the 6BR for comparison.

You won't be giving up anything as far as accuracy is concerned. In my books either cartridge is supremely accurate.

The 22BR may give you a bit more flexibility in bullet selection depending on the intended use, target or varmint. IMHO.

My 40X is box stock and I have little doubt that with the improvements of tuning the 22BR will certainly meet or exceed your expectations

Take care,

BS
