22BR and VV135, light bullets

About 10 yrs ago I had a Savage action from a shot out .223 and a Shahene Baby Tracker stock I won at a match. I also had 8 lbs of 748 and had sold the .222 I used 748 in. I saw 748 has good velocity in a 22 BR so I ordered a reamer and had a 12tw barrel chambered. I put it all together but was disappointed in the accuracy. It's been sitting as a safe queen. I brought it out and loaded VV135 with 55 gr Sierra Tipped Blitz. VV135 had been my go to powder with 6BRs. Different rifle now, may even use it this year for UBR style matches I attend. It went from a .4 or .5 rifle to .2 or .3. First 3 shot group I fired with the 135 was .196.Then 6 shots in .290. Shows promise.

Mine is a 12 twist krieger. I'm shooting 52 grain bergers and T32. It is built on a Remington although that probably makes no difference. I oiginally wanted to shoot 40 grain noslers in it but I can't reach the lands with them. I even bought a couple of 250 packs while it was being built. That is what I told him I wanted to shoot in it but my gunsmith is my nephew and he treats me awful well So I'll give him a pass. It shoots very well with the 52s though.
I know from being on here you shoot BR so you probably have some around that you have tried. You guys shoot mainly VV 133. I've never tried the VV powders. I tend to keep powder for a long time and have read some horror stories about them. I have to wonder what your experience has been. The stories may be bull. Gary

VV N-135 is my favorite powder for the 20 BR when shooting 40 gr bullets. I like 30 to 30.3 gr, it doesn't seem to matter in my two barrels. A tribute to the broad forgiving pressure curve of VhitaVuori powders. I have chosen VV N-140 for the 22 BR 70gr and 73gr bullets.
