im a remington guy until i get a Bat- ill tell ya some parts like the bolt stop and extractor r not so available. The barrel was finished and had been shot so it took a little work to get it headspaced. The used barrel came with dies and fired brass so I had some to work with. I used a fired piece and my headspace gauges to fit my own barrel. I had to order a thicker than stock recoil lug and mill it down in thickness to get it to headspace properly.
Normally I'm a die hard Savage person but I have built a couple of Rem 700's and I'm kinda liking them for parts availability plus the Remage barrels are making it nice for headspacing, now if they just had "swappable" bolt heads!
