223 Powders

So I have a pile of 77SMK and a new White Oak 20” barrel so figured I would work up a load using the 77’s. I have a 1000 of #41 Winchester Primers to use as well. Going to do a ladder test at 300yds after break in. What would be your 1st choice?

Varget 1, Rl 15 1b, H4895 1C. All are first choice powders. H4895 is dam hard to find otherwise it would be 1b.

Not sure how it will do with 77s but I am getting fantastic results with VV N133 and 69s

Every 223 with a 1:8 I've had experience with over the past decade has responded well to 24-24.5gr of Varget (AR2208) and SMKs from 69-80gr. It just works.

1:7.7 27” Bartlein 24.1 Tac

23.0 grains of H4895 with 77smk does wonders in my Rem 700, with a 1-8 Bartlein. Lapua brass, Fed205m primers. 2800 fps average speed at muzzle.

I also have Varget, N140.

RL-15 works well for me with 75gr Bergers

In my WOA 20” 1:7 barrel, 23.4 H 4895 at mag length with 77 SMK is the ticket out to 600.

Varget and Re-15 with 24.0 works well too.
