.223 bolt face cartridge choice

Starting to research the 6x45 now. I have a 6br already, but why not another 6mm.

I spec'ed my reamer for the 95gr SMK's and used an 1:8 twist, this setup also happens to put the 87gr VMAX in the sweet spot also. Its a great round, so fun to shoot and will hammer deer also.

I don't have a bolt action 223, but I have a 20 Practical, 223AI, and 6X45. All out-perform 223 in their own ways.

You should have 1 of each. If for no other practical reason.....just because.

.223 if it ever needs to be passed down to a non-reloader in the future.

Standard 223 or the 223 Ack gives a nice increase in performance

Well I’m still deciding and I definitely didn’t see myself going with anything in a 6mm offering with a .223 bolt face, but it’s definitely looking that way after researching.

I can’t really find anything on brass or barrel life for that cartridge though. I’d probably go 24inch barrel and launch some 80grainers at around 2800-2900fps If possible.

I really like my 6x45 XP 100, the 6mm Mongoose is another good one as is the 6mm TCU.
