The only one I know of is a 20-222. But upon researching the matter there appear to be several. Try this link:

Zillla,
The op was asking what wildcats were based on the 222 rem but were still.224 cal you know .223 .222remn mag probably more heck I dont know, I wouldn't know why you would want to change something as perfect as the long necked .222 that ruled the BR world for 30 years untill the advent of the ppc's then br's.

22 Vartarg Turbo designed by Todd Kindler. L.E. Wilson and I believe Redding(custom) make dies for this caliber. The case capacity of 22 Vartarg Turbo is approx. 5% greater than the 222. The shoulder angle is increased from 23* to 30*, the body taper reduced, and the neck length slightly shortened.

222 rem mag!

Thats not a wildcat and never has been. It was developed much prior to the 5.56/223 as the original cartridge for the m16. Powers to be didn't want the moniker of "magnum" to be associated with a military round, thus was born the 5.56 then the 223 Rem.
In order to be a "wildcat" one must be able to form the cartridge from an existing round. You cannot form a 222 Rem Mag from a 222 Rem...the 222 Mag is much longer than the 222. It is however...a very nice round to work with. I have a rifle in that caliber and a reamer if you would like to use it!

If there are any they are obscure. Why do you want to know? Are you thinking of trying it yourself. The .223 so far overshadows this cartridge that it isnt prctical. You might as well have your rifle rechambered in .223 rem.

Ooops! My bad.. I didn't read close enough.. I agree why mess with perfection.. My triple duce is one of my favorite rifles to shoot.

.223 Ackley Improved. Not really a wildcat,, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,, a very easy to load for and accurate round.
this round is not based on 222 rem either the only thing you can do to make a wildcat from 222 rem is lengthen or shorten neck change body taper or shoulder angle and still have it be in 224 cal.

I stand corrected, The .222 rem mag is parent cartridge for .223 and .222 is parent cartridge for 221 fireball. Just looked it up. I thought .222 was parent for .223, That is what I get for thinking ;)

Outshadows? ......perhaps in source for cheap military brass......but if the OP is looking for sheer accuracy, the .222 historically shoots smaller groups than the .223....proof...check the Super Shoot results throughout it's history.

How could anyone possibly answer the question" How much better does a .222 shoot then a .223????" This is a Ford/Chevy trap.........one could use benchrest history to validate one over the other and probably get the best matching of type of weapons/optics/shooter skill level but it still boils down to the guy driving the rifle..........If you're a Montana P-dog shooter and spend
30 or more days a year shooting dogs you can make a .222 shoot right along with a 22-250 because you can shoot........2 or 3 hundred feet per second
means NOTHING if you know what your rifle will do at random ranges and adverse conditions in the field.......you know how many dogs into the wind at crazy ranges to hold to hit a dog or how many dogs high.......you just know from experience and a intimate knowledge of your weapon weather .222 or .223, I got 3 of each and you can't tell the difference on live stuff
if you use the same bullets, but I have a 14 pound .222 that shoots right with my 6PPC light BR rifle so if you shoot a lot you really wont know any difference but if a armchair shooter let the history and track records speak for themselves................

I call mine....."Super Duece". 222 Magnum AI....just run your 223 AI reamer a touch deeper.

Specifically built mine to run 80 gr AMax's in a 1:8 twist Shilen Select Match light varmint/heavy sporter barrel. Speds in the 3100 range are normal.

How much more accurate is the .222 than the .223, if it is possible to put a number on it?

There was an article in Shooting Times magazine several years ago that referenced records kept on the test fire groups for the 40-xb series of rifles, the .222 Rem. shot the smallest groups on average, followed by the .220 Swift and .222 Rem. Mag.
