That is a BAD lot of brass. You should send them to me right away for proper disposal. As a matter of fact, those DO have small flash holes. 1/16" bit fits easily in them. For comparison, the Lapua I've got is 3/32. I still haven't used any of them yet, and I'm glad you mentioned it. jd
I tried that also 223 into 222 and mine worked very well. First I ran the lubed 223 int 222 seating die. Then i ran it into 222 FL die. But at first I got wrinkles on the neck area. So I did the next few different I ran the 223 brass into the 222 fl RCBS die real slow giving a lot more time for the brass to change form slower that help a lot. Ten I loaded and sh0t it in an old 722 Rem. and it shot as good as regular brass. Not sure if I turned the necks down or not can't remember. But it worked. Then I got a call from Star Line fresh batch hot of the press, bought that and have been very happy with it.I tried to resize 222 from 223 LC brass but was disappointed with the accuracy. Tried it a couple times including with annealing. It was not even accurate enough for varmint work.
This is exactly what I plan. I may buy a 222 body die if I can find one on sale.I tried that also 223 into 222 and mine worked very well. First I ran the lubed 223 int 222 seating die. I tried this before and was also disappointed. I did it without annealing and it was very poor, as you can imagine. After reading some of the other posts though, I want to try it again as I have thousands of 223 brass.I tried to resize 222 from 223 LC brass but was disappointed with the accuracy. yes that is correctThis is exactly what I plan. I may buy a 222 body die if I can find one on sale.
I've found the secret is to use plenty of Imperial wax on the case sides, but little or none on the shoulder.
When this post first went up the question was for 223 brass. Title has since been changed to 222 brass.Does LC make 222 brass ? Are you making it from 223?
The title has changed since first made. Original stated 223 brass. Early on even another person stated he swore the title said 223 brass and since had changed to 222LC is making 222 Rem brass now??
Starline, Norma and Nosler all make excellent brass.
Competing with Norma brass this year and no complaints.
