What kind of velocities are you guys getting out of these little farts with bullets in the 52g range?

Trying to get an idea if it would make a nice little walking varmint round.

I used to own a bench gun chambered in .22 Waldog. As awesome round as long as you are good at forming brass. My loads from a 24" barrel were right at 3450 with the 52 Berger. These were flat out loads and where the gun liked to shoot. I had the best luck with VV133. Accuracy with this rifle was awesome. This would be a great walk around varmint round. IMHO. :)

Paul

I believe I stilll have a set of Waldog dies if you get the itch to play, I might sell them. Sure enjoyed mine, wish I had not sold it.

Thanks guys and I might take you up on those dies Hammer. For some reason I'm enamored with that little guy and I though his velocities were up there, amazing how efficient he is.

I shot one for quite a few years in BR. I generally shot them between 3500 and 3550. They would really perform in that range. Here is a little trivia for you. The name Waldog came from the combo of the gentlemans first and middle name that had the first Waldog. Waldo G. Woodside...... Waldo G = Waldog. Dan Dowling can be credited with that little piece of inventiveness.

If you're looking for a varmint round, consider a straight 22 PPC perhaps with the new LT-32 and the 22 Beggs.

I had an XP-100 heavy barrel in 6mm Talldog, one of my favorite PD guns for short & intermediate ranges. Great for "Drive Bys" when the town was heavily shot over and the homeys were hidin'.
