22 rimfire accuracy

I've been stretching the ranges with my 22lr for a bit fun and the furthest I've shot at is 250yds..
What size 5 shot groups would be considered a good size in good conditions...?
Sunday I shot a group 3.3 inches with 3 minutes of wind on..
I use a CZ452 with eley match that can shoot nice small 5 shot groups..

That would be considered great accuracy

Ah good..
The smallest 250yds group Sunday was 2.7 inches..
Shooting off a harris pod and a bean bag thing..
I've fixed a piece of anschults rail too my stock and I can use my mystic bipod now but I've not used it for longer range yet..
I've been considering upgrading too a CZ457 LRP too squeeze a bit more accuracy at longer ranges

The OP stated he's been stretching the range for a bit of fun.
I do agree on the 50 yard ARA factory target, which I've never shot, but read all the time on here about them.
Where do I go to purchase the ARA factory target?
Thanks

I tried my CZ at 300 meters, with S-K Standard Plus and the bullets struck sideways, if they struck at all! The rifle shoots the same ammo into about 1.5 moa at 100 (usually a flyer, higher or low). At 300, it wouldn't reliably hit a 4x8 sheet of plywood. My 52 will group in six inches or so at 300 (on a calm day, mind you.) WH

Thanks..!!
It's going too be very testing then...!!
I did watch a YouTube video today with a bloke wearing an eye patch who shot a sub half inch 5 shot group at 100yds with a rim x...
I guess that would be capable of sub moa groups at 300yds..

The link didn't work Bill. Could you try again please? I would like to have a pdf target to print off as well! ;)

file:///C:/Users/User/Downloads/ARA-FC-Target-3.pdf You may have to type in the address as it won't highlite for some reason.

Pursuit of Accuracy is a great website and very informative and unbiased..
He rates the CZ457s but seems too have gone too open class on most his rifles using custom barrels..
It's not really the same thing then..

Anybody shooting the CZ457 LRP with good results out too 300yds..?
I’m sure it’s a good rifle but in rimfire every single barrel is a different and every lot of ammo is different.

Some barrels shoot with a variety of ammo lots, some are picky. Some barrels just never shoot very well. Just the same with lots of ammo.

Sounds like your existing CZ is shooting well. If you replace it, bear in mind you are buying a fresh ticket in the barrel lottery. It might be better or worse. More expensive guns and barrels buy you better chances at outstanding accuracy but still each barrel varies.

Thanks..
I was beginning too wonder that..!!
I found for myself how ammo varies but the more expensive ammo tends too shoot better..
I've shot several lots of eley match and they've all been good..
Still yet too try some lapua..
R50 didn't shoot anywhere near as good as eley match.
Gonna have too bite the bullet and try an LRP..

I was very favorably impressed with the CZ457 action when they came out - 100% function & smooth cycling along with the fully adjustable trigger, along with sometimes very attractive wood stocks were the high points. The low point on the three I bought was that the OEM bbls on the American & VPT were not accurate - the American's bbl was very poor at 50yds from the start, and never got any better. The VPT's bbl was ok at 50yds, with some improvement by the time I'd put 500+rds through it, but it fell apart at 100 & 200yds - couldn't keep 10rds on an 8" steel plate at 200. I re-barreled both with Shilen select match ratchet blanks and cut chambers with an EPS reamer - that provided a huge improvement in both rifles. The Varmint MTR I had shot pretty decently from the start; it probably would've been competitive in 22NRL matches, but after re-barreling the other two 457s & building several V22 repeaters, it had turned into a 'closet queen', and wasn't being shot at all, so I sold it.
