just killed this with it 2 weeks ago, 165 yd shot and dropped where he stood, I kill lots of deer and hogs with it, mainly to piss people off, they seem to think you need magnums to kill critters.

Vanguard,
I would say there wsn't much energy left in that little bullt @ 165 yds but obvious enough to get the job done. What a awesome critter, the strap assasion would be proud ;D

Savage Model 40
13.0 gr of Lil Gun
Rem 7.5 benchrest primers
40 Vmax
sub .75 MOA at 100y
3035 avg velocity

20" Bullberry Carbine for the T/C, bull contour. AA1680 with a Seirra 40g hornet bullet in Win brass and a Win sr primer shot 1/2" for me. Those open point lead exposed bullets really come apart!

I have a pre-64 Win carbine in 22 Hornet. With Lil'gun powder I am getting an average half of inch groups. The rifle, near as I can tell, was made in '42. It is a sweetheart.

wildcatgunworks,
Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a nice collection of varmint rigs there.

My family (and its a pretty big one) might be one of the biggest bunch of hornet fans you'll find. I can think of at least 21 hornets in the family (I have five of them)!

My first was a Savage 340 I bought at a gun show. I bounced a check at the grocery store to get the last $30 dollars I needed to buy it.

Next I found a used Uberti rolling block pistol in 22H in a gun shop and bought it on the spot, it shoots as accurate as a rifle.

Two years later I found the matching Uberti rolling block carbine rifle in another shop. I spotted it in a rack of used guns from about 25 feet away and knew instantly that it matched the pistol.

A few years later, my dad gave me a Savage model 24, 22 hornet over 20 gauge,

Three years ago I picked up one of the CZ 527's in a maple stock.

Theres just something about them hornets!!!

I have two:
One is a Winchester Model 1885 rebarreled to 22 KHornet, the other is an early Sako in 22 Hornet.
Both shooters, both dearly appreciated.
