22 Creedmoor AI?

Has anyone done one of these?

Care to share any info?

Phil.
When you say "22 Creedmoor AI" I'll assume what you're really asking about is a 22 CM with a 40° shoulder angle? For obvious reasons P.O. Ackley never improved a Creedmoor but just about everything that gets improved to a 40° shoulder is referred to as AI'd whether Ackley himself ever did or not.

The Creedmoor case already has minimal case taper and a 30° shoulder. I don't think increasing the shoulder angle to 40° will really change things much. If you want to push bullets faster, make it easy on yourself and just start with a case that has more case capacity, maybe a 22-284, instead of messing with the Creedmoor case. The juice wouldn't be worth the squeeze.

Howdy !

+1 on what B23 said.

The sharper shoulder would decrease available powder capacity, when the only other case change made is the associated neck length adjustment ( on the same case' oal ).

This would perhaps be a step in the wrong direction.

Yes. What do you want to know?
Shoots great +3gr case capacity.
No trimming.
Not running particularly hot but accurate.

Sound like a good way to waste a lot of time and create more work than needed to get the same or better results than is already available, not mention the cost in dies reamer and,,,,, well more work than it's worth.

In my experience that is an optomistic nummber in many calibers. Seriously doubt anywhere near that in a 22 cm with minimal body taper and 30 degree shoulder. Many AI shooters run higher pressures.
Ya I'm pretty sure this would bring similar results you would get if you put street tires on top fuel dragster.

Seriously the only gain I think you "might see" is less trimming? Even that isn't an absolute.
