22-250 vs 220 swift

I bought my first Swift in 1976. I have used several barrels in them. My current favorite is an Ackley Improved which solves the case stretch issue altogether. I have had several 22/250's also. I doubt if there was a squirrel that could ever tell that the Swift was going 87 FPS faster....but since this thread keeps going to 22/250 AI vs. .220 Swift let's keep it fair and include the .220AI. Now, what about the .223 WSSM? It looks to be faster than both! I love my 220AI but the 22/250 is still a great cartridge!

The WSSMs appear all but dead. Brass has been scarce for a long time.
Also, look at load data for the WSSM. Not very impressive for some reason.

Speaking of load data- if max velocity is what you're after in 220 swift, check out AA2700. 4400+ with 40gr bullets. I worked up to max load and the bullets were coming apart in my 14 twist for some reason- I chalked it up to firecracked throat and never shot them again. Perhaps I should revisit.
