Not sure if this relates at all with the twist you're using with heavy bullets, but I FFed my brass in my 22/250 IMP while shooting dogs. 14TW/55Gr. You probably don't have much for targets like I did, so probably of no help. Not many dogs in Ohio....

Since the price of Eastern coyote fur is so depressed, I was less concerned with the bullet being fur friendly! 68gr Hammer HHT bullet starting at 3,680fps impacted at roughly 3,100fps/1,450 ft/lbs. K.E. at 210 yards.

I did not film the walk-up part to the kill scene since there was a lot of blood and what appeared to be part of the coyotes femur. She made it 2 rows into the corn.

I like my 22-250ai, but once the brass dies, I'll stick with the 22creed. No fire forming, small primer brass. I have both cartridges, BTW. Ai for 53gr vmax, creed for heavier bullets. The creed likes RL22 with 75elds.
