20BR + R-10x?

My die set finally showed up so it's time to start. Can anyone provide me with a safe starting point when using R-10x and a 40g Nosler.

Pac-Nor SS SM
3 groove 1:12 twist
24" length

I can't give you a starting point but I don't think the 40 noslers will work with a 12 twist.My 204 is a 12 and they don't group well the 39 blitz kings shoot great and the 35 and 40 bergers.When i rebarrel another 20 cal it will have a 1-11 or 1-10 twist.

Thanks Fireball. I'm gonna try the 40's just to see if it might work but have 32g Sierra and 35g Bergers on hand.

Guess I better get to work necking those Lapua cases down!

I did send an email to Alliant Powder to see if they might have a starting point for me. If they respond, I'll post the info here.

I am still building my 20 br so I cant help much with a starting load but Scn terrific 20s has n133 aa2015 Benchmark H322. I will start with Benchmark at 28.0 at 3400 fps out of a 22 1/5 brll Max load is 33.6grns at 4187 fps with fed 205 primers.
On the bullet thing I own 5 20 cals 3 wild cats all with 1 in 14 twist the 20 br will have a 1 in 10.
My factory savage WILL NOT shoot 39 or 40 grns the brll is really a 1 in 12.5 twist all my others shoot 40 grns. with no problem Thay ar a true 1 in12 twist so you probly wont have a problem shooting a br as long as you bought a premiom brl
Good Luck Kevin

i have a 20 br in the 1&9 twist barrel and the 50 bergers really shoot good with vvn540 powder between 30& 31.5 grains start low every gun is diffrent.
