Anyone have any suggestions for loads for 32 grain V-Max, 40 grain V-Max or 39 grain blitz Kings in 20 BR or 20 BR Ackley?

I shoot 40gr vmax's in my 10t 20BR, I'm not home to look at my data but, I believe I changed my load to benchmark, because it was more available that varget.

Xbr8208 (20 dasher) and N130/8208/TAC/H335 in my br. All with the 40 gr vmax or 39 sierra.

I found the 39 sierra to be one of the least finicky bullets out of my 20 br’s. It just shoots everything so well.

Ill get you some data tomorrow

My old 20 br is a 12 twist and it shot the 40Berger and 39BK very nicely with 30.0 of N540. The BKs took 3 pds in a row at 500 yards on the Montana border back when the VHA was a thing and the 500 yard club was a goal for me. Now it's tiny groups at 600 yards. What's next for the 20s, perhaps a ELD-VT?

I know a couple other guys who have good luck with 8208 with 39-40 in the BR case.

That would seem an obvious choice. The problem would be the availability of fast twist blanks. Where as with 22s and 6mm 8 twist barrels are very common.

Hopefully Hornady will produce a fast twist 20 ARC and a ELD-VT to go along with it. Contacting Hornady with an interest in a new high BC 20 may help them decide to go that route.

MY rifle is a Bat SV - shoulder fit kreiger barrel- 1-9” @ 32” 1.250” straight

Use cation on all loads- especially the 8208XBR loads- I started w/ my 55gr bullet loads went up from there-

My 203B/RL15 loads
30gr(3732fps)- 31.4gr (3823fps) was fine showed no pressure…
450 primers was used

I didn’t go on up, just wanted to see if the 39gr BK would shoot-

Target 100yds
All 3 shots-
1/4” target ⭕

The lightest bullet i tried in my 20BRA was Badger Bob's 46gr bullets, I used RL15 and they shot really well.

I don't own a 20 nor have I ever shot one, but it would seem a little short on range for prairie dogs. Do you use 20's in conjunction with something heavier? About what's the range of the 20's?

Theres been a few that have done it to a 1,000 on P.D.
If you run the 55 Berger through there Ballstics calculator what a 55 will do in a 20BRA with a 100 yard sight in its 29-30" of drop at 500 yards pretty impressive.
