204 Vs 17 Fireball

I have'nt shot anything but paper at 100 yds., with my .17HMR, but compared to everything I've shot so far in my Savage m25 .204, the .17 is more accurate. I can easily bughole shots with the .17, but the .204 will bughole some shots, but not as often as the .17.
Still working up loads[powders-bullets-seating depths] on the .204, but think it probably won't shoot under 1/4 inch with any consistency. Think i have got all I can out of it.
.17 just keeps humming them on the money, with factory ammo. It's so accurate at 100 yds, I sometimes get bored, knocking out the center.

moonsign, Just so you know the 17 Fire Ball, is a center fire round, the 17HMR, is a rim fire round. I own 3 HMR's and there is no comparison between them and my 17 Fireball. If your HMR out shoots your 204 then that's one great HMR or one poor 204.

The 204 VS 17 Fireball is really not a test of equals, different calibers for different uses. To compare the 204 to a HMR is just plan silly, they are in different leagues all together. JMHO
