I tried CFE 223 in my Savage with 32's. Way to hot. At least the book loads I tested. .. 30.6 is listed as max. On the other handI read 4200+ fps outa of it at book max. I have since moved on to another powder.32 gr bullets 30.9 cfe 223 works really great for me. I'm on my second 8# jug.
26.2 gr of TAC with 32 gr V-Max punches some tiny holes for my stock Savage 12 .204. Like pauls mentioned, not the fastest but very accurate.27.2 grains of TAC with the 40 VMax. Works great ( and clean ) in 2 of my .204's. Not the fastest- but - accurate.
Tried TAC from 24-27 grains.... Decent, but nowhere close accuracy wise to the 25.1 gr H322 load over 40 grain Vmaxs26.2 gr of TAC with 32 gr V-Max punches some tiny holes for my stock Savage 12 .204. Like pauls mentioned, not the fastest but very accurate.
H322 is just one of those powders that loves those size cases. It's one of the golden ticket powders in the 222 as well as the different necked down versions of the 222. It's what I use in my 20-222 with 40gr Berger's just not as much of it as the 204.Tried TAC from 24-27 grains.... Decent, but nowhere close accuracy wise to the 25.1 gr H322 load over 40 grain Vmaxs

I'd imagine you're over 3700+ with that load and those 40's in a 204 Ruger.
I'm 3650 fps in my 20-222 w/22.5gr H322 and 40gr Berger's from a Hart 11tw.10 shot string
Average Velocity-3719 fps.... ES- 31fps
I don't reload however I've had phenomenal results shooting HSM Trophy Gold 35 grain Berger Match Varmint flat base, I zinged a coyote DRT at 400 yards lasered he dropped like struck by lightning. It runs about 3900 fps with a BC of 0.262 and at 400 yards is over 3000 fps , over 700 ft pounds of energy and a 9 inch drop, a real coyote slayer to put it mildly. So I've recently re-entered the small caliber world after a long hiatus.... And am searching for petloads( loads that are known to give good accuracy in most rifles).
The powders I currently have on hand are Varget, H322, and H335. Bullets on hand are 40 gr. V-Max. So if you have any experience with the 204 Ruger, and any of those powders, feel free to post them up here.... Thanks I'm advance, Eric
That makes for a really nice story, except your fictitious grossly exaggerated numbers are so far off that if you actually used them for your lasered 400 yard DRT coyote shot you'd be so far off it would be a miss. If you actually knew about this stuff instead of making up stories some of your own numbers would have jumped out at you right away.I don't reload however I've had phenomenal result shooting HSM Trophy Gold 35 grain Berger Match Varmint flat base, I zinged a coyote DRT at 400 yards lasered he dropped like struck by lightning. Listen clown you troll me on every website , you haven't a clue what you're talking about, I suggest you call HSM in Montana, or better yet go on Berger's website and do the math. Nothing to prove to you I've done my homework, now find someone else to troll. you're amateur hour at its ' finest. So I was off a little in my calculations, working off of memory , fact remains I can shoot, as shown by the dozens of pictures I've posted , let's see yours, the Berger still has the steam to kill at 400 yards.I'm waiting for your pictures of your shooting accomplishments. That makes for a really nice story, except your fictitious grossly exaggerated numbers are so far off that if you actually used them for your lasered 400 yard DRT coyote shot you'd be so far off it would be a miss. Those Berger 35 grainers aren't particularly sleek and start slowing down once they leave the muzzle as if you pulled a parachute and are barely traveling 3000 fps with 700 ft-lbs of energy at 125 yards let alone 400 yards with 700 ft-lbs. In reality land those 35's, even leaving at 3900fps, only has 250 ft-lbs energy which is the same as a 17 HMR at the muzzle.
The 35gr Berger only has a G1 BC of .179 It may not sound like a lot but the difference between a .179 and .262 is pretty substantial when the bullet is in flight. At 400 yards the real world 35gr Berger drops 21.8 and is traveling 1775 the fictitious one drops 16.8 and is going 2340.
Well, if you actually had a clue about what you were talking about or at least looked up the information before you told your world class BS stories you'd know the crap you're spewing is false and incorrect. So yes please everyone go to Berger bullets website and run the numbers yourself and you'll see how full of BS ohlongarm is.Listen clown you troll me on every website , you haven't a clue what you're talking about, I suggest you call HSM in Montana, or better yet go on Berger's website and do the math. Thank you sir for playing referee, I understand the point you're trying to make, however I can't stand a troll especially on informative interesting forums. I'll be the first to admit, I made some errors in my assessment of a 204 loading, it can happen, I was referring to a 40 grain Berger loading which is close to my post. I certainly don't need an amateur hour individual correcting me , I see a multitude of misinformation posted on the best forums it just happens. With that being said you need to chastise the troll known a B23 , the B stands for bulsheets stacked 23 feet deep. With that being said I'll fight my own battles, but appreciate your concern, anything further PM me or I'll send you my work and cell number you can call , thank you and enjoy my postings, as I enjoy those of the many posting here.Hey, you two dumbasses, I do not recall asking either of you two to jump on my thread, and start a pissing contest. @B23 who fucking cares? @ohlongarm your data was very far off. Own it, correct, and move on. Either way, @B23 , and @ohlongarm, take your bullshit elsewhere.
