ANDERSON CREEK SPORTSMEN’S CLUB 300-YARD PA TACK DRIVER LITE

We will be holding a 300-yard Pa Tack Driver Lite match at Anderson Creek Sportsmen's Club on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024.

This match will be limited to the first 50 registrations received and will have a cash payout. Payout will be roughly 2/3 of the total registration. Registration cost is $30 and will be limited to the first 50 on a first come first serve basis. There will also be a payout for the highest score target, and the smallest group target of the match.

The targets to be shot at this match will be hung at 300 yards and will alternate group, score, group, score, group, score. Targets used will be the IBS 200-yard score target and the IBS 200-yard group target.

This match is intended to be fun, challenging, and bring something a little different to our area. This match is structured similarly to the Tack Driver match created and ran by Jim Cline in Orangeburg, SC and will give you a sense of the match format and challenges.

Flags will be permitted at this match and must be set before the sight in period.

Benches will be assigned randomly and will remain the same throughout the match.

Range will open the morning of June 22nd at 7:00 am and there will be a sight in period from 8:00 am until 8:45 am with the match starting at 9:00 am

Range will also be opened Friday June 21st at 12:00 till 6:00 for competitors to set flags and practice.

Tom Hamilton Anderson Creek Sportsmen's Club President will be cooking for this event.

If you are interested in attending, feel free to contact me. I will respond to PM's, emails and calls as time permits.

Official count as of last evening was 30. Registrations are still coming in and I look for us to have a full house again this year.

Glad to hear Zach will be able to make it again this year. He was definitely a big help and him along with Dave made a great team.

Also to note the stickers are being printed for this year.

For those that don’t know about the stickers. I laid down a challenge the first Tack Driver Lite match we had. If you shoot the smallest group of the match I would have stickers made to commemorate the event and the group.

The first year it was Marshall Tressler that shot the smallest group. (The first year match was at 400 yards)

Last year was Art Engleka that shot the smallest group. (Last year and going forward will be shot at 300 yards)

Probably the worst conditions I ever shot in. But the amazing thing I observed was how good many groups were compared to how ugly the score targets looked. I think there is something to be learned from that. At the top of that list were my own targets. Still scratching my head about near a year latter. But it was fun, we we were all in the same boat . With all that wild wind and rain a boat might have been needed. I know conditions will be better this time around.

Anderson conditions that aren’t challenging? Do they exist Jeff?

Not the last 2 years but that day was.....awsome, lol. Over the years you use to get a couple of matches a year with challenging conditions. Now it's pretty much every match. I kinda like it because I'm a flag guy but an easy match on occasion would be enjoyable .

Get them sail tails set out and calibrated yet ??

A fun shoot that's very competitive. Might need to screw last year's BRX barrel back on for this one.

Some things for a first timer at Anderson Creek to know. Beautiful range, Flat with a solid border of trees on one side. Sun in the morning but it's above the level of the roof edge about 9: 30am. Wind can be switchy but is usually 3 to 9 or 9 to 3. I consider it an honest range in that what your seeing is what you get. Range is totally grass. Outside of 4 ft tall back berms there are no tricky terrain features in front of you. Good folks, lots of fun to be had. Don't miss out.20220814_071452.jpg
