2021 IBS - 600 Yard Nationals

Did I hear today that the registration has now been extended until Friday 9/24? What is the number of competitors that it will take to need to shoot 3 days rather than 2. Just so many benches and so many hours! Guys, I am only asking this due to the extra day off work and extra overnight stay for some.

You heard correct. IBS said we had to leave
registration open until the Friday before the match. (Thus making it harder to get done in 2 days)

Not sure anyone or any range can answer that question truthfully. There are too many variables that come into play. Will we have any crossfires? How many relays will have crossfires? Will a storm come up and us have to take a 1-2 hour rain delay?

You being from GA you know as well as I do, it’s hurricane season, so anything can happen.

This club wants this Nationals to run smoother and quicker than the shooters do. At this point, no one can say if it will take 2 days or 3. So as I said in my previous post, everyone come with an open mind, and an open schedule.

AND BE READY TO HAVE SOME FUN !!

I’m fortunate to have extra vacation saved up and an understanding boss. I know others may not be in the same situation but I’m planning on being there for the duration, two days or three.

Dave.

I thought number of relays could be maxed at a point & a waiting list made of the late sign ups.
I could be wrong on this.

Well here goes this is my opinion the numbers are adding up there could be glitches in the match with cross fires this is probably the best attendance 600 yard nationals thus far considering those circumstances. If I was a match director the rules calls for eight targets but I don't see anything in the rules that says you can't shoot six but there's going to be people b**** about that my bad I don't or shouldn't have an opinions I'm just a shooter.
P.s. don't burden shooters to shoot extra day if ya don't have to mother nature could blow it plum out of proportion.View attachment 1278441
I hope they have 150 shooters! Its a damn National Event!!!
Mike

If one can't afford the table stakes (time or expenses), stay on the porch and watch the big dogs play. This is a National event. Therefore plan for the worse case scenario (time and expenses) and everything else is gravy! The more the merrier to me!

I love your opinion!!! 6 targets sounds like a great idea when you are going to have 7-8 relays or more!!!!!!
Think about it, that's 7 relays times 3 instead of 4 with the 8 targets..........The math seems a little more reasonable to me.....

I’m kinda new around here but I’m learning, don’t ask a simple question! Those of you on here who do know me knows I don’t care how many guys show-up or how many days it takes. All I need to worry about is keeping the damn door closed and not touch the thermostat!!!

Rule book says WILL be 8 targets . I dont see where it says it could be or maybe 8 . Plan and simple its going to be a big crowd Im sure the range will do everything they can to make it as fast as possible and if we have to stay a extra day it wont be the first time thats ever happen either . Funny how we forget a year ago we was going one because no one knew if we would even have a nationals and now a year later we are looking a the largest one ever . Sounds like a good problem to have to me.
