Want to thank all the folks at the club for putting on a great match. Sierra really stepped up as a sponsor and kudos to them. First time down to your range and the frog legs and fried fish lived up to all I've heard about! Congrats to all the winners. Winds were not kind to anybody but a few of you got thru it without too much pain...awful nice shooting by lots of guys! Enjoyed scoring for Jim on his last match and must say that was one of the hardest efforts for a "clean" I've seen this year. I was hoping to pull a rabbit out of somewhere on that last match but you beat me too it!! You showed fantastic patience and were rewarded with a top finish. LONG way down to your place from WAY up north but the trip was worth it! Enjoyed talking to ya all and maybe see ya next year! Eric in DL

We appreciate you making the trip from Minnesota Eric. It looks like you did very well too! Maybe next time it won't be so stressful to hit the center of the target, lol

Stubby, there was quite the variety.

Dashers, 308's, 7 SAUM, 6.5x55, 284, 22BR ( I believe),6 BRX, and I'm sure others.

I saw Savages, Remingtons, Barnards, Pandas.

Thank you Sierra Bullets for sponsoring the match; thank you Joe, Brett and Bobby for making it happen; and thank you Mike for the hospitality you always extend to everyone, and in particular to those who travel far to participate in our matches. And thank you Mike (again) for keeping the interest high in the match with your timely posts and updates.

The windy conditions were simply wonderful – for those of us who are still learning about the wind.

Congratulations to the winners, and good shooting, everyone!

It was a tough weekend at St. Louis Benchrest. I am exhausted. My hats off to Jim Fowler for his skill on the last relay and the match overall. I got to really see why his is a national champion. Shooting next to him I got shoot in the exact same conditions as him and he took Joe Meyer and me to school with his 200-12x on the last relay for F-Open. We were shooting through two wind conditions, a strong wind from the East at 2 O'clock out to 200 yards and a switching head wind coming toward us from the 600 yard line thought the alley. I tried forcing shoots through the conditions with some success, but Jim's patients waited for the conditions to come to him and it paid off. Great skill at reading the wind by a true champion and gentleman.

Thanks for Sierra for putting up the prizes and trophies. Getting sponsors for matches is not an easy task and manufactures are constantly being hit up for donations.

Congratulation to my friend Joe Meyer for his fine showing Saturday and his new 7MM barrel.

Paul Siracusa great wind reading for your 1st place...Your old man must of passed something on to you. You are one of the best wind shooters I have seen.

Bench open guys, Big Piney guys are tough to beat. They shoot in the wind at their range and their skill show when they come up to St. Louis. Dannie Wake and Donnie Greenwell great job, and our home guy Neil Greenwell jumped in and snagged a fine second place!!!

Mike, Joe, Brett, Dave and Bobbie, great job for putting on these matches.

Mike, a great job talking up this match, your are the host of the match with your cookouts.

look forward to shooting with you all next year!!!

What about all them flags me, Jimmy fowler , Dannie Wake and John Dunkman put up? Lol. I think that was everything we own ha. 20+... If a deer ran by we probably flagged it! I'm getting more help next year with the cooking (Travis Greer) and thank you to all that brought some food to help round up the meal. Lenny Bagdon and Brett worked over the targets and more volunteers helped hang them the night before so all we had to do was go to the pit and score in the morning. The club prez had our impact zone worked on during the night so we could see every shot easily. Joe really put the icing on this with those awesome shirts. This post is to make mention of Lenny's efforts and the things that everyone does that are not noticed but I saw them do it!

Speaking about all those flags Mike....It was information overload!! I usually only see 3 down each side and you guys must of had 20 of them things! You didn't train them very well thou as they all seemed to point in a different direction, LOL! I would've gladly traded a few of them X's for a 10 instead of a 9, maybe a 2 for one deal?? Match director and staff did a wonderful job, t-shirts too, that's a first! Eric in DL

eric, thanks for making the trip all the way down from,, Minnesota I think??? We appreciate it.
I wish I had a chance to meet you... as you know things are pretty busy on match-day. that what makes the sight-in/ cook-out the day before so nice,,(wish I could have made it to that). you can get to know the traveling shooters, and make some new friends. we have a lunch at our monthly match, and that really completes the day.
I wish that I could have met more of the shooters, but we do appreciate all who came out. I hope all enjoyed it.

I wanted to thank everyone who came out and participated in the match. It was a huge success and Sierra agreed to commit to the match for 2016. So we will be having another Sierra Cup, I hope to make next years even bigger than this year.

Have a great winter and I look forward to seeing everyone next season.
