Midwest F-Class Championship July 11th @ St. Louis Benchrest Club

Wow what a match today! Our highpower gang is a tough bunch in this heat with those jackets. We had some very difficult wind today and the scores showed it. Paul Siracusa and his father Steve were locking horns in FTR until crossfire Steve helped him out. Those two just won the FTR 2 man team match in Oklahoma and were battle ready. Scott Diebold, Daren James, Joe Meyer and myself had a close race in F-Open. I am glad we are shooting from the shade this Thursday after today. The temperature is supposed to drop to mid 80's for the championship and I am OK with that too!!

Rod: a man's gotta eat!! I try to release most of the fish I catch (in the hot grease !!)

This match is designed around giving something back to the shooter as well as coming together for exciting competition. The key elements are competition, food and prizes. I have hired a couple boys to put out and pick up the targets and other equipment. I want everyone to shoot their best and have a good time without the sweat. We have several volunteers helping enough as it is. Weather looks good and everything is a go!!! See you on the line.

Forecast is calling for mid-80's and light winds (even though at this range the flags lie to you). If you have never taken off a Thursday to come out to one of these matches this would be the perfect time to do so. Great range, good folks, and good shooting! See you all there!

Pete

I'll shoot a little better on Thursday. By the third match on Sunday, laying in the heat, I was done. So by match four in which I only shot a 187-2, I was just wanting to get my 20rds down range and sit in the shade. Hoping for at least on clean string.

Yeah I felt cooked after that run. All part of the training I guess, I had to switch to auto pilot to get through it. I am bringing a gaggle of boys tomorrow to setup since I had to hit it hard today and tomorrow morning too. Temperature is supposed to drop tonight and just in time for this match. I wish I knew what the cookie was fixing but I bet we eat it !!! We have a very sweet lady fixing us a great lunch at every match. Be sure to thank her for the extra effort she gives us.

I have several prizes from Midway USA 6- range bags, 3 shooting mats, and 3- sets of big 10 ear muffs. Ryan Pierce of Piercision Rifles has donated 2-$150 off low pro Fclass stock gift cards and one free chambering gift card to the match. These and any other donations are to be given out as attendance prizes by a drawing. The range is ready for the match with all the flags out and targets in the frames. Now if I can only remember to bring my stuff without forgetting something!!!
We will try to get the gate open by 6 AM.

Verizon is the only cell phone service I know that you can call out from at St Louis Benchrest club, so someone please give my buddy Brian Bowling a way to call me to hear of the outcome!! Not sure which way he is shooting F-Open or Bench.

We will post the results as quickly as possible after the match. We have our 2 best men ,Pete Petros and Ryan Cokerham taking on the photos and match results. Don Rabun said he is going home with the F-Open trophy and he will have no mercy on us!! We'll see about that tomorrow.

What an awesome day for a match! The weather was calm enough in the morning for some amazing scores, but picked up enough to test everyones wind reading skills. The turnout was great and very competitive. It was good to see many new faces at the match. I'm going to post the photos I took and Pete will be along shortly to fill in everyone with the scores.

That's all for now. I will update these later with captions and results. I hope you enjoy the photos of the rifles. We didn't do a equipment list, but anyone with a trained eye shouldn't have much trouble figuring out details. Who doesn't like looking at rifles?

Awesome Pictorial Ryan, Thank you..

Thankfully I only saw Mikes Mug once...

That looks like just a great group of guys having fun and burning powder.. Someday....

Pete will have the scores up soon. I haven't heard from him all day and I just figured he was hungover from the flyer he had go out in the 7 ring on the first relay. Well it turns out he was in a big meeting all day at work.

Rod, my wife still thinks I look good and she is always right!!!!

It's hard to describe the intensity and excitement we had at this match. The first relay set the pace and it took off from there. Bo & Don shot unbelievable targets in the first relay.

Re: Midwest F-Class Championship July 11th @ St. Louis Benchrest Club RESULTS!

Attached are the results. Great Shooting! Congrats to all the winners. Conditions got a bit tricky later on. No Mike, I was not hung over from sulking over the flyer 7 just in a meeting all day. It is still haunting me to this minute though :o.

Thanks to all of you who came out and made this the best Thursday F-Class match yet! See you on the line soon.

Pete
