Shooters,
The club is ready to go for next year. Here is what you need to know (see associated attachments):
1. The preliminary AEDC match schedule for 2014 has been negotiated with the National Guard. As with last year, events may be added or subtracted throughout the year, based on availability. The first long-range match is 1/26 and the first mid-range match is 2/16. These two are both early-season, reduced-cost, weather-permiting "club" matches intended as tune-ups with no scores sent to the NRA. **Note: attachment has been updated**
2. The programs for the Mid and Long-Range matches are basically the same as last year. The first two "club" matches are not listed in the program since there is no formal NRA involvement. The October dates listed in the program are still tentative.
3. The annual MidSouth Marksmen membership drive begins now, and the $40 dues for 2014 must be received by 31-Jan-2014 for renewing members. Just like last year, members in good standing will receive $5 off all NRA Approved (not Club or Registered) matches. This year we are also including a t-shirt with your membership fee. Please be sure to fill out the attached membership form, note your t-shirt size, and mail the completed form with your dues to the address noted at the top of the form. Membership in MidSouth Marksmen is not required to shoot in our matches, but we ask that you join the club to help support the health our beloved sport in the region. Besides, you get a discount on the Approved matches and a t-shirt.
4. We have a new website under construction. Check it out at www.midsouthmarksmen.com. In the near future we will post schedules, results, club info, etc. on the website to keep everyone up to date.
5. Please use the e-mail address midsouthmarksmen [at] gmail [dot] com for correspondence with the match directors listed at the bottom of the schedule. We will all be checking it, and this will make it easier to coordinate everything.
Thank you for your continued support,
