2012 Camp Perry Team Matches Prone, F-Class Open, FT/R

I have heard several different courses of fire. Does anyone have or know the actual course of fire for non-international teams? Can a club/team have a combined aggregate for Prone, F-Class Open, FT/R or will it be just 4 man team for each class?

Although f class is an NRA event, it is not shot at camp perry during the same time as conventional high power rifle or even in the same month. I believe the f class national event is held at Lodi WI unless that has changed.

"I talked to Emil Praslick at the F Nationals in Lodi about F class matches at the 2012 Camp Perry Long Range Nationals and he said F team and individuals would be shot during the Long Range phase of the 2012 NRA Nationals. I assume we will see more information later."

F-class is being allowed to shoot at CP this year because it coincides with The America Team Match. The F-class nationals are being held at Raton, New Mexico. Probably won't happen at CP again for a while.

So it really doesn't matter if you have both a F-Class and Prone team because they will be individual match not a combined aggregate?

As I understand it, the America Match will be a combined F-Open/F-T/R Team but otherwise, I have not about any other aggregation of F -Class and/or sling shooters.

XTR,

Are you saying that f class will be shot at CP this year only? :-* Wow, that news to me. I don't shoot f class but know lots that do. This will make some very happy since its closer to home.

I don't understand why a more clear , list of what is actually going on can't be posted regarding the "individual" F Class Shooters so they could make arrangements to participate without having to wait to the last minute.
I've been hearing / reading bits and pieces of what might or might not actually be happening for the past several months.

I seem to recall that there is some good information on this in the F class forum on Snipers Hide. If my memory serves, when this was discussed a few months ago someone dragged up good links and info.

As far as I know there is currently no plan for F class to ever be included at CP again. That said, like most matches and organizations money talks. If we get a big enough turnout and the powers that be see something that they like then it may become a part of the schedule, but as of now this is a one time only event.

Personally I want to go, the way I see things it'll probably be the only chance I ever have to shoot at CP.

From what I've read it's been known since last July or Aug. that they would allow F-Class Teams to compete.

Here is the link to the NRA Camp Perry Tournament Calandars:

This is from "shootfclass.com":

http://www.shootfclass.com/2011/08/f-class-at-camp-perry.html

I don't know about being able to come up with a 4 man team to compete, but I'd love a trip back to Perry.

So with the America's Cup, can any four man team compete or are they only for national teams?

I would love to shoot at Perry and may be able to scrounge together a team if able.

I sent some questions the the NRA and this is the response that I got.

Subject: RE: Contact from NRAHQ web site: Competitions

Wade,

The program is still being written as we speak but here is a rough idea of what is planned.

F/O and F/TR will both be allowed to shoot in Long Range matches. This is an experiment to determine whether or not it is viable to add F-Class to the Camp Perry schedule. In other words, will competitors show up?

F-Class shooters will actually be shooting a Regional, but be shooting all the same courses of fire as the Long Range shooters. F-Class will be involved in all shoot-offs and team events but will be competing for their own awards.

F-Class will also be allowed to shoot the America Match.

A total of 48 F-Class shooters will be allowed entry. If we can fill those spots we will be in a better position to ask the OHNG to improve the range to add more firing points for next year. They are currently balking at doing so.

Next year (2013) I hope to add a Mid-Range High Power and a Mid-Range F-Class National Championship to the schedule. This match will be fired concurrently with High Power or with Long Range, I don't know which yet. It depends on from where I believe we will draw the largest number of shooters. Nothing is cast in stone on this yet.

Director, NRA Competitive Shooting Division

Thank God
Finally SOME information on what is at least the proposed plan. Its like a top secret mission or something.. Good on you for getting that information and getting it out to the shooters so they can start plannning.

For the FClass shooters wondering what the course of fire for us sling shooters are.

Day1: Two twenty shot matches at 1000 yards with unlimited sighting shots(Band of Brothers, Mustin trophy
Day 2: Wimboldon: 20 shots unlimited sighters. Then the Romainian 4 man team match. (20 each shooter) and then the shoot off for the Wimboldon (plus service rifle and Palma Rifle trophy's)
Day 3: Leech Cup: 20 shots Unlimited sighting shots. Then the Harrick 4 man team match.(20 each shooter)@1000yds Then the shoot off for the Leech cup ( service rifle and Palma trophy's as well)

Day 4. Palma Day. Palma course 800, 900, 1000 yards

Day 5. Used to be Palma Team day.. Now for this year only in its place The America Match. Fullbore team match. National Team's compete against each other for the trophy. 300,600,900,1000yds 15shots at each range two convertable sighting shots.

Now this is my understaning that NON National team's will be four man teams competing against each other using NRA team rules. I am not completly sure on this so please dont blast me. Just the rumor. Just for the America Match only on this part.

I would like to see the Fclass show up in force to show the support personally. But with no information until the last few months its unlikely that will happen as most of us have jobs and would like some lead time to plan vacation and leave time. That sometimes needs to be submited in Dec or Jan in order to get approved for vacation. So there experiment may fail just because they did not provide a schedule enough time in advance. I call it the three P's ( piss pour planning) = another 3 P's ( piss pour performance)

This will be an INTERNATIONAL event. Teams fromall over the world are to be at Camp Perry this year, Britain, Canada, Australia, Maybe even Japan.

Thank very much XTR you did a great job getting this from Mr Willing.

Great news XTR!

Looks like I may be taking a vacation in August for a week. I would love to shoot Camp Perry and now it looks like I may be able to make it there.

Wonder how soon we can register for this event?

XTR thanks for posting the information you were able to obtain. 48 slots, not a lot but certainly better than nothing.

Just got this email that you all probably got as well confirming the earlier post

Camp Perry Registration

The programs for the National Championship events are currently being finalized and we hope to have them available in early April. Online registration will begin when the programs are added to the NRA website. Mail-in entries will probably start in early May after the programs get printed and mailed.

Camp Perry Long Range F-Class

This year we are conducting a trial run by inviting F-Class competitors to shoot alongside the Long Range competitors. The F-Class shooters will be competing in a Regional that will run concurrently with the Long Range Matches and they will compete for separate awards. We have 48 openings available. We will use this as a gauge to determine if there is a demand for F-Class shooting at Camp Perry.

Is that 48 spots for FTR and Fopen?

Either way I don't think they will have a problem filling 48 slots.

KT

Yes it's only 48 spots.....

For those that know Perry it's where the Machine gun Pop Up Targets are, we will actually have the numbers pasted on the Target for the spot number as the big numbers are gone on these spots. Shouldn't be a problem to see with the scopes we use they are thinking.

I had talked to Dennis about the Mid-Range also, he didn't know if it should be held at the same time as Long Range or with XTC....I told him I'd want to shoot both, not to travel that far and only compete in one Match.

I don't think it will be only one match; it will be 8 matches including team matches
