20 vartarg bench rest gun, 100-200 yds

There have been a couple that shot for a while in IBS I believe.
If I remember correctly they did not hold their own @ 200 yards in conditions, against PPC's with 65-68gr slugs.

One 20 VT was shot in 2015 in the IBS Nationals and the IBS Charity Classic. The average of all the groups (22) fired at 200 yards was 0.698 inches, per my arithmetic. The smallest was a "screamer" at 0.217 inches. That put the combination in the middle of the pack for both LV and HV (same rifle used), beating some seasoned experts and being beaten by others. This reflects one rifle with one barrel fired by the gentleman who built the rifle. Whether this constitutes holding its own - maybe. Maybe not. Check out the match results on the IBS site.

I don't check in here all that often, but some may be interested that one 20 VT was shot at the last Super Shoot and finished sort of in the middle of the pack.

A friend bought a top drawer short range benchrest rifle from Butch Fisher (BBS) and had him rebarrel it as a .20 PPC. Shooting it with 133 at velocities that were not the highest that could be attained, he shot many targets in the teens, without wind flags (undoubtedly on days when the wind was favorable). Since it was used as a varmint rifle, and for that use there is no weight issue, he put a NF 12x42 BR on it. He was a very meticulous loader, and kept his targets in a binder along with the load data. The rifle had a 11" twist Lilja, and he shot 40 gr. Bergers. It had a Scoville stock, BAT action, and Jewell trigger.
