Call first stop guns in SD and order a Dakota Varminter in 20 Vartarg for $1850.00. In the long run you will spend at least that amount building a good one anyway. The Dakota will shoot in the 1s and 2s(5 shot), will have a true premium barrel. A BR quality single shot action and a beautiful wood stock that is pillar bedded beautifully. You can’t beat the deal and it shoots lights out. It will take a few months to get it, it will give you time to raise all the $, and you will never regret it. I’ve got 4 Dakota’s and 2 of them are 20s. One a Vartarg. They shoot great. And will hold their value better than anything you build.

I have seen a few of Dan's targets from past posts and yes those rifles are shooters...tiny accurate groups...also those rifles are beautiful!
The wood on them is very nice...if I didn't already have a 20VT I would consider the Dakota Varminter for sure!!! Heck I still might!

My most recent Dakota is a model 97 in 250 Savage Ackley Improved. I was worried it wouldn’t shoot because it wasn’t my normal Varmint/Predator model and is a 5 shot blind magazine model, not the typical single shot. It shoots under 1/2” with a couple of loads. I really like the products those guys kick out. And it looks even better than my best looking Varminter.
