Why the 40 gr. Berger? I like Bergers for accuracy, but the Sierra is quite accurate and has a materially better BC. Also Sierra BC data tends to be similarly reliable to Berger BC data.
I am an avid coyote hunter and am trying the 40 Berger in hopes it will be more fur friendly than the 39 SBK I’m currently using. I’ve experienced more entrance splashes with my 204R and the 39 SBK than I am willing to tolerate. For my intended use the BC difference is not as important. Shots will be 350 yards and in, with the greatest majority being 75-150 yards. If the 40s don’t work, perhaps I’ll try the 39SBK again or just drop to the 35 Berger.
Robert Whitley, did a feature article on accurate shooter about the 20 practical. I had him make mine with a Hart barrel. Shoots quite well.Have you tried the 39gr Speer? It's worth a try. Hell of a lot cheaper too!!
