20 cal guys

I never knew saubier. I joined the 20 cal game and reloading about 5 years ago. Learned a lot from 204ruger even thought about recreating the load spreadsheet that someone created about everyone’s favorite load

I’m here- what more ya need???:D
Lots of good info here- just gotta search for it… umm - maybe text a fella or 2… I been looking/ thinking of another 20 cal myself.

Since then I formed some 20BRAI brass recently for a good buddy/ member here..using 32,39,40 gr bullets.. target set at 200yds- got a bunch of .1’s & .2’s groups…. Now I think I just need to change bullets to have a different rifle..

Just rambling…

Varminter.com had a nice forum at one time too, but it hasn't been up awhile. At one time Eric said it would come back, time will tell. This forum has such a wealth of knowledge that there's really no reason to go elsewhere. All we need now is for Hornady to introduce a 20ARC with a 50 ELD-VT.Maybe a gun manufacturer will get onboard with a fast twist barreled gun and then the brakes would be off in the 20 caliber world. ;)

I was here before I was there.
Yeah I lost a fair bit of info at Saubiers too. Saubiers was the proverbial rabbit hole, I would end up there on a search, in a few minutes I was off track, completely forgetting what it was I was looking for.

Another HUGE site we lost years ago wasn’t it shooters.com? Been so long I forget now, but I burned a lot of midnight oil reading there. Here one day, gone the next.

I’m really liking how you’re thinking here ;)

I think we need to define DISASTER better, here's my definition. the gun went boom, instead of bang.
I had one Boom back when the 204 Ruger first came into being. Was testing unlisted powders and got a little too ambitious venturing up over 4,000 fps with Sierra 39gr BKs. The 4th bullet in a 5 shot group flew apart in the bore and all hell broke loose! Blew my 700 bolt face apart and the shrapnel came out of the muzzle in a shotgun pattern destroying the optical chronograph I was shooting thru. But at least I know where absolute max pressure is located! Lol!

OK, I think we would all call that a disaster. Let's say that if the gun is incapable of another shot --- Or if the shooter or bystanders are injured -- you may have a disaster. jd

I like that, except a stuck case doesn't qualify. because once you get it out, the gun should still be able shoot.

I am a private pilot, we used to say, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. I had to change that to, any landing you can walk away from and the plane still can fly, is a good landing. I'd rather not say why we had to change that statement.

Yeah it was done fer! Luckily I didn’t get injured. Was able to save the bolt face on the operating table with a new bushing and Sako extractor, so the only casualty was my chronograph. May she forever rest in peace. Lol
