20 br with 55’s load data?

Anyone have any good load data and powder options for a 20 br shooting g the 55’s? Threw together a Howa mini recently with an 8 twist. Shoots the older 50’s nice but don’t have any and grafs has the 55’s available. Thanks!

I used varget in mine. Work up slowly to 29. Some barrels pressure out at less

I have a custom 20 br with 26" brl. With 55 I have good accuracy with H 4350 & Reload 17. State a appox. 29.5 and work up in 3 tenth gr.

I would try the same powder you used with the 50's

I'd like to add to this question with the powders I have on hand. Accurate 2015, reloader 7, IMR 8208, Scott brigadier 4197 (I have multiple lbs of each of these)

All of the powders that you listed are way to fast.Varget,reloders15 or slower powder.

RL15 works wonders in my 20BRAI and 55's, I know of others that use it too.
With what you have on hand 8208 might work I know it does with lighter bullets in the BR case

N135-N140-N150( maybe if use drop tube)

H4350 isn’t a good one- you can fill the case smooth to the top, crunch seat a bullet- it’s too slow-

If you have AA2520 might be worth a shot in the BR case its not far off the RL15 when I tested both in my 20PPCAI.

Do a search, there is a fair bit of data around. I went right to VV and didn’t fool with any thing else. I went with 150 and worked up, went like clock work and was a pure pleasure, almost boring.

My thoughts are if your only at 3250 and 28gr with Varget I doudt very seriously you will reach the velocity its capable of its what I ran into untill I went to RL15
You should be 300-350fps more and shoot good.
What length of barrel?

32.0 gr of varget im coming up the neck in my BRA with Varget the BR my guess is 30.5 and you will. I wouldnt mess around to much and waste barrel life if going up with Varget doesn't wake it up.

21”. What is a good starting load with RL15?

I would start at 27.5 and work up, thats about were I ran into pressure in my 20PPCAI so you should been fine there in your BR starting out.
That 21" barrel will slow you down some and not working in your favor in that short of barrel either with the slower powder.
