20' barrel - 1/8 twist - suppressor -6mmBR Issues?

Wishing to build a walking varmint, tactical comp 600yrd max rifle. what issues will I face with this combo.
I will be using a S/A Rem700 receiver, B&C stock, Trueflite barrel 1/8 heavy match fluted barrel, Atlasworxs bottom metal, AI mags, GunworksNZ BOB suppressor.

I am aware that Vel's will be down, but what should I expect? What about accuracy.

Thanks Guy

Accuracy comes from the sum of it's parts.

Beyond a little loss of velocity, you should have no issues in a properly built gun, as long as you feed it it's favorite ammo and steer it right.

I've got a 17 1/2" 8 twist 223 in a McMillan with a Nightforce on top, and have thumped prairie dogs out to 850 with it.

I've got the Atlas bottom metal also, destined for this gun.

I have a 22" dasher with a suppressor. I shoot 105's @ 2800, which is 200-250fps less than my 30" f class rifle. My rifle will usually shoot 1/2 moa or better if I act right. It is a great deer hunting rig.

should be a neat setup. i had this one built with the same purpose in mind. 22-inch Schneider 1x8 polygonal on Rem 700 short action. shoots about 1/2-3/4 MOA 10-shot groups, and slightly better with the suppressor hanging off the end. no need for hearing protection even tho its a 308 can. one of my favorite guns at the moment. just installed a Leupold target scope so am hoping for a little bit uptick in accuracy. running about 28gr of VV N550 (or N150) powder and 108 Bergers. Same load with 105 AMAX' show a slight decrease in accuracy but right at 1 MOA nonetheless and cheaper to shoot. need to experiment with bullet seat depth i think next to fine-tune my loads.

I built a light weight 6BR walkabout varminter with 24" barrel. It was a tack driver.....but the speed was a little dissapointing. The best combo of velocity & accuracy came with the 95gr Berger VLD @ 2,780fps - very effective with kills on magpies, bunnies & wallabies out 780 yards. I see your in NZ - have a chat with Harvey Westland in Christchurch - He is a 6BR advocate & a top gunsmith / F class shooter to boot. I think your'l be disapointed with the velocity from the 20" barrel, go with at least 24".....I wish I had gone 26" in the end but settled at 24" to keep the whole package compact with Gunworks suppressor.

:)
Thanks for your replies guys.
Fordnutter I live in Chch so will have a chat with Harvey, I will also have a chat with Robbie from GunworksNZ as he has built a couple of very nice rifles for me in the past.

Once again, Thanks guys ;Dgpkbgf
