2 ounce Savage after market trigger

I just got off the phone. There is a company that is developing a 2 ounce trigger for Savage rifles. The company hopes to be in production by the end of the year.

Bill I think you were getting 2 oz trigger pull off your prior red blade target Savage Accutrigger after you did your magic to it.

Yes, I did get one to 2 ounces. And it wasn't the red blade. It was on a model 12 BVSS. But I had to remove the blade and be careful not to slam the bolt (which I never do anyway).

The company is Jard, Inc that is developing the trigger. I told the guy he had better expect a run on the product.

I'm willing to take a poll (and maybe do a group buy) and get back with the guy in about a week.

I would be willing to pay $150 for a 2 ounce reliable trigger for my Savage PTA.
Tell me what you would be willing to pay and I will make up some sort of chart and present to Jard.

I would be willing to pay 150.00 as well or less if possible.LOL

I have serious doubts that this can be done safely. The design of the savage trigger with its stamped sheet metal sear doesn't lend itself a safe hyper-light trigger.
If you have to close the bolt slowly to keep it from firing it is a long way from being safe.
If I am calling a match and your rifle goes off while closing the bolt you're done. Right then!
I shoot a savage. Just so you know.

It sounds great in theory however it still doesn't address the other issue with respect to bolt lift so heavy that you cant keep the rig tracking consistently in the bags... I think if you're going to add a couple hundred here and a couple hundred there you may as well go with a better platform.

I would still be interested to see what they come up with though lol

Patch700, Nat Lambeth can fix that heavy bolt lift. I can open my savage action with 1 finger while keeping the rifle in position.

I have done the "lift kit" on a pta and speaking only for myself I've found that by the time the heavy lift is cured you wind up with another problem and that is very light primer strikes. . Perhaps I didn't play with it enough though.

Jard's current Savage trigger kit comes with it's own sear. So I would assume on any two ounce trigger that Jard produces that Savage's sear would be replaced with Jard's own sear.

I like . ;)

Going to watch for this. I'm on my second Accutrigger and gave up at about 9 oz. Tried a Rifle Basics but nothing I did with it would make it safe.

Just give me a SAFE 6 oz and it will be a happy day for me.

I'm in on any possible future group buy and i hope they pull it off! I have a Jard trigger on an AR platform and love it! Great company...

I have a Nate Lambeth lift kit on my savage 308 and it hammers the primer,You just have to adjust it per instructions. The bolt also lifts with 1 finger.
