1911 long slide?

I am in the market for a new 1911 and I am leaning toward the Springfield Armory Loaded Long slide stainless.. Anyone have any experience with the long slide Springfield? Can't seem to find much info on the long slide version. Opinions wanted thanks.

I've always found this site a good source of information and opinions on anything 1911 related: http://forum.m1911.org/forums.php?s=dbca38b176f6e9afffb89e0ab6735dc7&

I really like Springfield 1911's. I think they are very good value for the money. The long slide will give you a better sighting plane for iron sights but is no particular advantage if you are going to use a dot or a scope. If you are considering having the gun accurized a bit then I would recommend a non-stainless version. It is easier to hold tight tolerances without galling when one has regular steel in the frame and slide. But if you are going to use the pistol as is, then stainless works well.
