So any results in from shooters that got these recently? I know some top guys have had them way before released and team Berger and USA members probably did too
I have a customer that tried them in his 284 win and shot a 4.3" group at 1000 for 10 shots. Hes informed me he has fine tuned it even more since then.
I would guess that little typo will be rectified soon. Thanks guys. Seems like I read somewhere that berger recommended a 9 twist for the 184 and an 8 twist for the 180 hybrid/vld.

Just going by the Berger twist rate calculator a 1:8.5 will stabilise them at sea level,2740fps and 1deg.. 1:8.25 should get it done nicely..Berger reckon a 1:9 will drive them. I have a 1:8.25 Brux on order but Berger couldn't provide a recommended twist at the time so I erred on the side of caution.
Did you do any load development? I am thinking of doing nothing but changing Bullets.I tested these bullets and they shot outstanding. I actually shot them a better than my 180's. I was running them in a 1x8.5 Bartlein 5r at 2820 in a straight .284 win.

Will be going the SAUM route in a couple years myself , (want to gain a little more experience shooting the 284 first), when I do go SAUM I’m thinking switch barrel..keep 284 for its good Barrel life as a work horse and use SAUM for bigger comps on windier days...That was my thinking mate. My next big dilemma is whether to keep shooting the 280AI (which I do like and have a heap of new brass) or make the switch to a 7SAUM...

Yes have looked into it previously will need another bolt for my BAT..Just be mindful of the SAUM requiring a different bolt face to the 284 mate.

Not cheap but cheaper than setting up another complete rifle. Cheers
