I just received my 1000 count box of 180gr. JLK's. I went thru several of them, checking the base to ogive of the bullets. Almost ALL were exactly at 0.815. A few were 0.8145 and only 1 was 0.8140! These things are unreal in consistency. I weighed a handful, on my A&D FX-120I, and the "lightest" was 179.96 and the heaviest was 180.08..
I looked at the "nose / point" and they are almost "closed up".. Very little variation in the apparent "size" of the hollow-point. They are so perfect that "sorting" them would just be a waste of time.. Now, in the next 2-3 weeks, I need to develop a load for them in my Shehane. However, since I have a good grasp of where it shoots with the 180 Hybrids and the 180 Scenar "L"'s, load development should be a breeze. I want to be ready for our TSRA /LR (Texas State Rifle Assn.) State Championship and the following Lapua /LR Regional Championship at Bayou Rifles..
