180 gr Scenar L, since no one has mentioned it.

+1. It shoots every bit as good as the hybrid in my RUM.

If you want to keep the bearing surface of the 180 Scenar "L" out of the neck / shoulder junction, you will need a MINIMUM of a 250 freebore and a .275-.300 would be better. If you develop ANY sort of a doughnut and seat that L-O-N-G shanked bullet with that short freebore >>you will wreck your accuracy.. No doughnut >> no problem>> Doughnut>> BIG problem!

I had my reamer built for 180 Berger VLD and it shoots all three very well. I don't have the print in front of me but I am thinking .063" freebore. COAL is different on all three obviously. This is a hunting rifle and I will shoot the 180 HVLD as it out shot the other two.

Since you are neither necking up or necking down, your "doughnut" problem probably does not exist. However, the OP never mentioned what 7mm he plans on shooting. If he goes the .284 route or it's improved variants, he needs to know what freebore to employ. That is why I said the deal on the freebore because of the unknown of what the OP intentions are..

Shoot me a PM. I think the hybrid is great with that freebore I shot .188 freebore in my .284 and 7saum. I have 5-6 thousand 180 hybrids and I am shooting a couple 30 cals this year so I wouldn't mind selling some off
