14 caliber barrels

View attachment 1501317

Somehow, I missed the news that someone picked up Todd's shop.
I know he wanted to retire and more or less closed down, but this latest header on the old web site looks like maybe somebody talked him into keeping the shop going?
I wonder if someone in Baltic bought him out? Guess I'll find out soon enough, being as I'm fortunate to live about 30 minutes away from Todd, and the wife and I are in Amish country atleast once a month, lol.

What advantage is there to a 14 caliber gun? With several 17 caliber cartridges readily available for varmint shooting with excellent accuracy, it seems strange to me. I am guessing bullets must be custom made?

Where can I get a 14 caliber barrel? Any help appreciated.
.an I didn't even think you could get .14 cal bullets anymore..I thought the guy who made them past away?.
Who makes .14 cal projectiles?.
I've even heard of .12 cal recently..can you believe that a .12 caliber rifle...Jesus!..that like shooting sewing needles..hahaha..wicked fun!

The main advantage is how powerful they really are. a 10g bullet moving at 4400FPS will toss a prairie dog 3 feel to the right on impact. Everyone looks at these little bullets and think they are "pfssat".
Recoil is so light you can see your rounds impact.

I'm pretty sure Ron Reed, Don Unmussig and myself are all still alive.... Just talked with Don tonight on a big 14 caliber order I sent him. Ron posted above so I think were all still doing okay. I believe Russ Lucas is still above ground too but haven't talked with him in way too long!
What grain and O-give 14 caliber bullets are you looking for?

Here's a picture of a 12 caliber squirrel cartridge as well so you know what those needles look like.

Yes, Don Unmussig is also still going strong. We have our 10g and 12g in stock, next plan is for the 17.5's and I hope to have some of Don's 15g on the shelf soon. I figure that way we all stay in the game and don't run over each other on offerings; while still giving everyone a place to get them.

I do have to comment that our prices went WAY up. Cost of material and new minimum orders are insane; not good for anyone, but what can you do.

Pardon my ignorance, but do you have a store front? Web or physical? I am interested - I got the bug with the gateway drug: the 20 Vartarg.

Ron, do you still make .172" bullets?

Ok, these little micro numbers are intriguing. I visited your site reed1911. I have contenders, is there a place I can learn about how brass works? Dies and forming? I see the dies on your site for some of the cartridges mentioned but forming and the process is what I’m curious about, some place to learn more… any suggestions? Hate seeing Sabier go away…

We do still make .17's (.14's, .20's, .22, 6mm, .30, .45, and .475's too)

On the forming, I have forming dies, but they are our sets. You can have the dies made or just buy the brass. Neil Jones is who we recommend for the dies. We do have some of the various sub-cal dies in stock here as well.
