134 eld-m

Be a good candidate for a 25-284 build. I'm no particular quarter bore fan but this bullet in something like a 25CM or 25-284 build would make a great deer gun.

Hope it works out well. The berger 133/135 i hear aren’t great in regards to accuracy. I guess some get them to shoot ok but not great?

Anecdotal information can extremely misleading without certifiable backup data. It could be whoever spoke this information really didn't know what they were talking about for a multitude of reasons. We see this frequently when someone wants to appear to be an expert and they aren't.

Like any other bullet though, there is always the possibility that the barrel simply isn't compatible with those bullets. Maybe they had the wrong twist rate?

I've shot both of the Bergers with superb accuracy in 4 different cartridges and 4 different barrels all same manufacturer. I may be the exception but I doubt it since I know lots of other .25 caliber shooters who have reported the same accuracy.

Enjoy the process!

:)

I've read this thread before when it was first offered. It didn't support anything that was disparaging at all. In fact the OP admitted that he hadn't really done much testing at all. He has other comments such as the fact that he was only concerned with benchrest shooting. Well good news! These Bergers and the ACE were never released as an option for benchrest shooting. On and on with the few negatives offered.

Three pages of opinions with a few targets thrown in making for some interesting reading. Did it solve anything? Not really. This is still American and everyone has the the right to their own ideas and opinions whether we agree or not.

Enjoy!

:)

Same. The 133/135s shoot very well in my 25-284. Didn't do any seating tests just the first .015 off and .3 grain powder charge steps using only RL26. Accuracy was .2-.3 with one hole groups in my case. Really no need for much more load development but H4831sc may be cleaner so I'll give it some attention. Velocities were an impressive 3189 with a 24" barrel. One lower node showed better accuracy consistently. That one was too slow.

The Berger 135s and BJ 131 Ace / AceXL shoot great from both of my barrels. 24” Bartlein in .257 RobAI and 28” Brux in 25x47L, both 1:7.5” twist. I find that the BJ 131s shoot a little better for me, but not enough to concern me. All of these bullets will shoot .2-.3” for me, with the BJs more consistently at or under the .2”

Excited for the red box offering, especially since I’ll be able to save a little money for banging steel, where .5” is fine, better is gravy.

Anyone get their hands on these 134s yet. I’m looking forward to giving them a try. All out of 131s, the 133s and 135s have shot pretty good for me, but seems a little more finicky then the 131ace. I would love to see someone start making the 131s again.

Hornady doesn't even have them on their release data sheet yet. What is on their list will be out this coming spring. Tells me maybe fall will be the release of the 134 according to the lady I spoke to at Hornady.

I’m thinking about making a fast .25 caliber, or I should say, I’m thinking about having one made. Maybe neck down a 6.5 PRC or Saum. I’ve always been a quarter bore fan, it’s nice to see bullet manufacturers cater to the .25 crowd. I currently have a 25x47L, I’m shooting BIB 110s with it and love the rifle and set up. That rifle isn’t set up for these bigger offerings though.

Was looking at Sierra Reloading Manual awhile back and saw the load data for the 70 & 75 gr. bullet in a 25-06 Ackley Imp. I believe it was 3900 fps @ max. And who knows they could be sand bagging with their data. LOL. At any rate that is stroking it on down the road for a 75 gr bullet no doubt.
