123gr amax?

Is anyone shooting the 123gr amax at 1000yrds? What have your results been? I'm in a dilemma here! I am torn between the 6 dasher with the 105 amax and the 6.5x47 lapua 123gr. amax! Keep in mind I'm looking to kill pdogs at 1000yrds Not punching holes in paper. The amax seems it will do the job! I have checked and the BC on the 6mm 105 amax is .500 the 6.5 is .517, with that said! It seems the 6.5mm would have the upper hand? My real question is does the 123gr. amax give as good as a combination with the 6.5x47 as the 6 dasher and the 105 amax as far as accuracy?
Thanks
Mark

You might find these interesting if you haven't seen them already.

Neither addresses the AMax but there is plenty of discussion about accuracy with bullets in various sizes and with several powders.
Good luck with your project.

For 1000 yard stuff I imagine the 123 A-Max will perform but 105 Berger or JLK VLD (JLK claims .560) have a higher BC than the 123 A-Max and the 123 Scenar has a BC of .547, the 130 JLK may work well for you as well at a claimed .620.

The A-Max does make for cheaper shooting though and it's certainly better than the 120 A-Max.

Any of them will wack a prairie dog.

Tango,
There are some great bullets for th 6.5x47 lapua. I was hoping some have had good success with the 123 amax.
There seems to be serveral guys using the 105 amax with the 6 dasher and have had god luck with them. I agree the 123 amax is a lot more cost effective. But there is plently of time to decide. I just ordered a Bat model B so It'll probably be close to Thanksgiving or Christmas before I get it :(. But I have goten use to waiting on custom parts. Like I said it at least gives me time to think about everything else lol!

I am still believing in the 6.5x47L! Another thought and question? I have read that some are pushing the 130s, and 140s 2900+. Seems they are pushing the max loads. Ok so they are acheving their goal. When you are running at Max pressures I would believe that you are shortening your barrel life! What about a 32" Broughton 5c barrel, can one expect to acheive 2900+ easier with less powder or less pressures with the 130s or 140s increasing barrel life? I'm not shooting any comp. so not worried about the weight and have a cpl of stock makers in mind that could build me a stock with a longer fore end to help support the longer barrel. What do you guy's think? Would I be wasting my time going to 32" or what? Will their be that much velocity change in 2in. to justify my thought's?

Just to add I was thinking about the 130s or 140s giving me better BC, but finding a higher velocity node in the barrel without pushing the limts of pressures and burning the throat out so fast. I will be having Daff Kiff grind me a reamer for witch bullet I ever decide to go with. So this is the reason for the question.
