10mm Longslide 1911

I have had a small hankering for a 10mm 1911 for about 20 years. At one point I told myself no, you don't need another set of dies. At the time I loaded for 41 different rounds. But, since I parted ways with .380, and no longer bother to load 9mm, maybe another round is due.

I am a 1911 guy, sure I have glocks, and HK's, and I really like single action revolvers, but I really like 1911's.

Is the new CZ/ Dan Wesson worth the money, of should I go Les Baer, or ???

This one looks interesting:

I have a DW and it is a very nice 1911. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another.

That said it is hard to ignore the resurgence of Kimber. Their entry into the 2011 has made a big impression, especially when considering their price is a fraction of cost of the completion. Based on this I would take a look at Kimber just in case their return to excellence is carried throughout their entire product line.

Magazine capacity is listed as 15/18, so it must be a double stack? But, the information doesn't mention it. I also wonder if the quality is there or not. I have little interest in a double stack, I don't have large hands.

At a gunshop the other day they had the Dan Wesson Kodiak, and a Colt Delta Elite. Delta Elite was $1250, I think the Kodiak was $2300 or so. From doing some looking, I'd rather have a Dan Wesson Bruin. I don't like the look of the rail in front of the trigger guard, nor do I need it.

Cracks me up, a fella that loads for that many calibers feels it necessary to justify adding another. I would like to see them listed just to see all the odd ones.

I had a streak of seeing what all I could shoot out of a 1911. 22 lr, 22 TCM, 7.62x25, 9mm, Super 38, 357 Sig, 40 S&W, 9x25 Dillon, 10mm, 45 ACP, 400 Corbon, 460 Rowland. Only really needed a couple of the dozen, one just led to another. But they were sure fun to get working and loading for.

One other gun I do suggest is an IMI Jericho. Some of the older all steel versions have recently come up on gun broker. I got mine to commemorate gaza and iran actions. I was surprised how nice of a gun they are.
