Man you should have been born 150 years ago !If the 12 ga is unavailable I'll shoot the 480 Ruger SBH until it goes click. My reload will be to pull my Glock 40 and go until the brass stops flying if needed.![]()

Loving the red dots!
My gen 5 40 s&w is fully supported..... I would imagine the 10mm are as well.Still the Glock barrels don’t have the case support !
The real reason to upgrade barrels. The Glock barrels could always shoot Hardcast coated or Gas Check but Soft lead bullets not recommended in any Glock .
My trail pistol for Alaska is a G20 with the standard length barrel 4.6”. I prefer it over the excellent G40 and 6”. The G40 with 200gr Underwood you should break the 700 FPE level in performance.
I believe the G20 factory spring is 18 pounds .I will try this, slowly work up to it, ty. I’ve been following the other thread. Too stiff a load for factory 20 lb spring?
20 # is what Rock Island Armory lists as standard for their single-stack 10mm's. I think it's a bit stiff, but it might be exactly the weight for "brown bear" loads if not the 22#. I'd consider it strongly if I were going to push the cartridge and platform. A busted handgun, whether it hurts you in its failing or not, is not a good defense against those giants! A friend of mine shot one 15 times with a .300 WinMag (he'd accidentally gotten into the bear's path back to its den), and the taxidermist said that 11 of those shots should have dropped the bear in its tracks. Something to think about when choosing a bear gun, they're a "whole new deal" when they get riled up, which is what happened to him as his guide saw trouble heading his way but missed his shot with a .375 H&H.. My friend was an experienced Alaska hunter, but that day he shat his pants and it was only two years later that he could talk about it.Factory is not 20 pound !
It’s 18 pound !
I use the NDZ 22 pound spring and rod in my G20.
Underwood Ammo works great in it.
I handload but my loads are not quite as hot but just under Underwood Vel levels.
I went ahead and installed a KKM 4.6” barrel also on my G20 for a tad better case support.
I much rather have my 454 but sometimes Im working and that super redhawk revolver is in the way. I also dont run into many rhinos in NC. I've had several run ins with black bears, some as close as 6' in the dark. Had they wanted my ass they would have owned me. Ive carried ever sinceIf I'm hunting AK or Africa where I might be the game I take ONLY my FA .475 Linebaugh revolver. I stopped a charging blk bear at 6 feet with it, a Cape buff at 35 yards, and a 5000# rhino. Works quite well. Reasonably light to carry and extremely effective.
Ok! By your recommendation, I ordered an NDZ 22# spring with rod and a KKM stainless barrel for my new Glock 40. A friend came thru with a half pound of Blue Dot! Woohoo!I believe the G20 factory spring is 18 pounds .
I quickly switched barrels to KKM and a spring to 22 pounds and got rid of the plastic OEM spring and Rod .
I was looking at the pic and thier site. I saw a bullet with 15 BHN but your box looks like it says 22 BHN. Are you using gas checks? I’m lean on hardcast knowledge.220gr Hard Cast

Do you get any leading in your barrel with those?I loaded Montana Bullet Works 200gr hardcast for a trip to Idaho back in the summer. Ran about 150 of them through my stock G40 without a hiccup. Pushed them 1140 fps IIRC with Accurate #9.
Good folks to deal with too.

Very, very little. They have a brass gas check.Do you get any leading in your barrel with those?
Thanks for that! Way back when, I shot a lot of hardcast bullets in my 44 magnum and had leading problems when I pushed them hard.Very, very little. They have a brass gas check.
