105 A Max in a New Rem SPS Varmint?

Will the 105 A Max shoot out of the 1 9 1/8 twist,26") Rem SPS Varmint? Stabilize?

I would like to use 4064 with Win Brass and FGM210M primers. What other Powder primer combo have you had luck with?

Any load info on this?

Thanks!

Is your gun a .243 Winchester?

That bullet will not stabilize at 1000 in a 9+ twist 6BR or 6XC. With the .243 Win you might have enough velocity to do it. You might try H4350, Reloader 22, and H4831sc with CCI primers.

If this is a hunting gun and you'll rarely be making shots past 450 yards, it just might work out.

Duh on my part! Yes it is a .243 rifle. I was hoping to get some good testing in with the factory tube prior to rebarreling it. Plus, I have too many projects going on and would like to save the rebarrel cash right now.

The gun likes the 58gr v max, sort of likes the 87's, but I just haven't had a lot of reload time to get those dialed in. Hoping the 105 will shoot well out of this thing. I shoot a varmint shoot locally and the max bullet weight that can be used is 115.

Thank you for the reply!

I shot a few last weekend through an SPS Varmint .243 over IMR-4350. First time I've tried them and they didn't do that well. About an inch at 100yds. A disclaimer or two, the 500yd range was tied up with a match and had to use the 100yd range. Wobbly wooden benches and you have to crank your rest way up, use a short bag and lay on the table. Wasn't shooting all that well with anything. Should have just put on the bipod and layed on the concrete. Still have 75 to play with. I'll let you know if it gets any better.

Haven't shot this gun much but it seems to like 70SMKs over Varget. 87VMAXs and Hornady 87BTHPs over H414 shoot pretty well too. FWIW, haven't shot any groups at 500yds but the 87BTHPs were center punching clays at that distance.
