Cliffy How will you ever get any better if you dont push your limits.
A 6 br is a very capable little round for pdogs mine has a 14 twist ,great for closer shots. had a 6.5x284 built for my try at 1000 yards this summer. Good Luck

We are actually leaveing on May 22 to head out to south dakota again to try for the world record and 2 miles. Weather last year was against us hopefully it will work out better this year. I use a 12-42NF and my buddy uses a 10-60 March.

Most seem to believe if they can't do it no one can! Records are made to be broken! If any of you want to beat the current world record then set out to beat that record and give it everything you have! I have not killed anything past 482yrds with a 220 swift! Why I haven't is because oppertunity has not presented itself at any distance futher! Can I kill at a futher range. yes I can! And will! If you have killed anything futher, that is really great! I commend you on that! Why do you feel you must talk trash or squash someone else's accomplishments or belief's in thierselves that they can accomplish a goal!? If you chose not to believe what someone else does or has accomplished then just don't say anything and continue as cliffy does and shoot at 300yrd with your 243 at 70rnds 3 times a week! Be happy with that and leave other's that pursue longer distance alone!!

Tell me what you shoot so I can go buy that and do just what you do! I would hate to think that someone would want to be anything other than what you think they should be, or do what you do! You must be God allmighty!!!!

As for the Marine Sniper, I'm not doing anything close to what they are, my rifle weighs in at 50lbs., I don't care about one shot kills, that dog isn't shooting back, I'm trying to break a record that has stood since the early 90's by Bruce Artis.

bruce artus and kreg slack shot a chuck at a confirmed 3126 yards (1.78 miles) with a 300 grain sierra matchking in a .338 lapua. 3rd shot. i have read that book so many times--and that book was published in 1999 (if i remember right). who knows how far out they have gone now.

I believe Bruce hit a 16" steel gong at 3120yrds with the .308AI. As well Bruce holds the record for the longest varmint kill at 2067yrds. I could be wrong here Bruce may have broken that record. I would have to go back and read the whole chapter in precision shooting at 1000yrds to be sure. As far as I know Bruce still holds the record and if he or someone else has broken it. I haven't seen it published or I just have missed the info. So don't hold me to that. Like I said I would have to go back and read the chapter again. I do no there is a 338 lapua in the mix shooting the 300gr. sierra's. So I'm not totaly sure!

There has been hits made at 3120yrds and 2067yrds rather it be 308AI or 338 Lapua. It has been done and is known by Many!

bruce and kreg were shooting the 16" gong at 3,120 yard. a rock chuck presented itself just past the gong. on the third shot, they whacked it with the .338 lapua.

You are all wrong about not being able to hit pds at 1000yds plus with a 20x scope because I have done it and seen it done and measured distance with a measuring wheel that is as accurate a measurement that you can get. Maybe you or the people you are guiding don't have the expertise or equipment to connect at that kind of distance. You should continue to guide the 100-300 yd shooters and not comment on something you don't know about.
