I believe Bruce hit a 16" steel gong at 3120yrds with the .308AI. As well Bruce holds the record for the longest varmint kill at 2067yrds. I could be wrong here Bruce may have broken that record. I would have to go back and read the whole chapter in precision shooting at 1000yrds to be sure. As far as I know Bruce still holds the record and if he or someone else has broken it. I haven't seen it published or I just have missed the info. So don't hold me to that. Like I said I would have to go back and read the chapter again. I do no there is a 338 lapua in the mix shooting the 300gr. sierra's. So I'm not totaly sure!jghoghunter said:Sorry some of you are so narrow minded as to put down what others are capable of doing only because you are either that stupid or ignorant. I have invested alot of time money and practice to even try what you are saying isn't possible. You obviously don't have a clue. As for the Marine Sniper, I'm not doing anything close to what they are, my rifle weighs in at 50lbs., I don't care about one shot kills, that dog isn't shooting back, I'm trying to break a record that has stood since the early 90's by Bruce Artis.
JohnWayne
Bruce Artis is the one with the record somewhere around 3150 I don't have the info. infront of me right now. I'm not sure anymore what caliber he was using but it was a 30cal..
