1:8 Krieger 22-250Ackley with 53Vmax ?

Have not played with the length yet on anything. I just got my load next trip will be the lands.
Current COAL= 2.480

Savage 116 Varminter
Nikon glass
I changed and installed this barrel myself.
This load is very flat, it's under the max for this rifle but I will not go higher. Brass was still good and primer pockets tight.

The AMAX is a 52 gr. Ballistically, it is much closer to the 50 gr VMAX. There is a night and day difference between those two bullets and the 53 gr VMAX.

I started to work up a load in the fall with a 22-250 ( not ack. ) 12 twist and was up over 3900 with cfe 223 but accuracy was not as good as at 3850. No puffs all bullets made it to target.

Update > 53Vmax bullet was flawless using 1:8 barrel @ 3900 fps
After 2 ladder tests with RL15 and Varget, both generated 3900 fps and somewhat similar in accuracy.
Bullet seated 5 thou from rifling in all tests.
Will be adding Norma203B to the testing (same burn rate as Varget & RL15)

Here's my PET LOAD...wasn't hard to find....I'm ecstatic...results are better then I planned !
41.0 RL15, CCI BR2, LAPUA brass, 53 Vmax, 3 thou from rifling
FIVE SHOT GROUP @ 110 YDS.
Average Velocity 3942 ES 61.0 SD 24
.440"-.224" = 216"

Downside for me when spinning varmint bullets fast when shooting varmints is they are much more sensitive to minor barrel fouling, where as with a different setup I can go 300-400 rds before problems arise, the fast spinners tend to get put back in the truck and another rifle grabbed before 100 rds after two in a row gray mist on me. However they're fun while they last, they hit a raindrop, blade of grass or a gnat they explode, red mist and chunks.
