22 Creedmore yes or no ?

I'm down to 3 lbs. of Re#26. I will say Ramshot Grand produces High velocity loads. My 22 CM has a 26" 8"twist. Next bbl. I want a 7.5 twist.

I also think a 22 creed is better suited to heavier bullets. However, an advantage the 22 creed has is brass. 22250 brass was unobtainium for a long time. I have not looked recently, but I suspect choices for good brass are limited. Everyone is or will be making 22 creed brass or you could start with 6 creed and neck down in 1 pass of the die.

I have a very heavy 6 creed I am considering going to a sporter barrel 22 creed with a can and the 69 gr ELD-VT.

I agree the raw horsepower of the 22 Creed with a fast twist barrel is wasted on lighter bullets. Not to mention the real risk of blowing up bullets which are too light.

Very useful data about Ramshot Grand. I tried Magnum and it worked OK, just not amazing. I have had good results with other new generation energy dense powders though such as IE Staball 6.5. What kind of charges/velocity are you seeing?

Hornady shows up to 3850 in a 24" 22 Creedmoor with a 62 ELD-VT

If you check load data from Barnes, Sierra, and Hodgdon they don't get those speeds. IMHO, Hornady over promises and under delivers, i.e. the 7mm PRC. I am sure if you are fortunate to get a fast barrel and run it over pressure you will get there. Just my 2 cents.
Apples to oranges but 2 loads graphed today with 75 ELD=M's 2 loads checked and my results were 20 and 32 FPS better than what the Hornady data said it would be. My Lilja is 23"

No personal experience with the 22 creed. Lots of experience with the 220 swift and 60 grain partitions. That bullet is a lot of fun with the bigger 22 caliber cartridges. All seven of children took their first deer with it, all one shot kills.

As far as barrels go my attitude with overbore cartridges is barrels are consumables. That’s a decision you make before you cut the chamber. I have a 22-6.5 PRC, I’m shooting 70 grain accubonds in it. It’s a calling rifle, it’ll take awhile to get 7-800 rounds on that barrel as long as I’m not sitting on a prairie dog town and just stick to shooting bigger varmints with it. When it’s done I’ll just do it again. Fun!

If your worried about short barrel life a 22-250 is a better choice. It’s not a speed demon buts it’s not a slouch either. Very capable chambering that will give a much longer barrel life. The 22 GT is another one that will give you some barrel life and still be a lot of fun.

To each their own.

I have two of them & love them. Use them for coyotes, pronghorn & deer.

Pretty much exclusively shoot the 75ELDM going roughly 3450 in both of them

The 1-7.7 twist shoots the 88s darn well also.

Info on the 22PRC please

IMO the 22creed is best as deer rifle. The 22-250 already exists with slower twists to shoot varmint bullets. If you want it to do both varmints and big game a 22creed with 1-8 twist shooting 75gr eldm is a wicked set up. My 26” 7.5t 22creed spits the 75s 3500fps easily with RL-26. I was lucky enough to buy an 8lb keg pre Covid that I only use for the 22creed. Shoots tiny groups too.
88s are big medicine on deer at 3250fps
