1:10 .223

Hey folks I did a search and could not find any answers. My rifle has a 1:10 twist I have found some 50 grainers that shoot very well, but how heavy could I go also. I have no tried anything over 60 cuase that is all I have had. Thanks

Sierra 69g matchking box says 1x10 twist or faster. They SHOULD work, but I've never owned anything slower than a 9 twist.

I know for a fact the 1-10 shoots the 69 Sierra MK or the 69 Nosler CC in a 1/4 group when in the right hands @ 100 and is stable @ 600.
This was @ 1200 elevation.

Not sure about elevation here in oklahoma but that's sounds good to me. Will a heavier bullet do better at long range and wind than a shorter lighter bullet. Long range anything past 400yds and as far as the cartridge is capable.

At 7000 ft, there was no problem shooting 69 grain NCCs in a 1 in 12" twist. Play with the Sg calculator at JBM. I worked with Don Miller to refine the formula. It works well. One thing about 1.0< Sg < 1.3: bullets don't usually tumble, but they begin to exhibit large shot to shot variations in drag.
