1-12 .223???

Will a 1-12 twist .223 shoot a 60 grain bullet? I want to shoot the 60 grain nosler partitions if possible. Will they work? If not what barrel twist do I need?

I have two factory barreled .223s and they both shoot 60gr bullets well. One is a Rem 700 and the other is a Rem 788. Both are 1-12.

blacknwhite,

My Tikka T-3 223 Rem with a 1:12 twist shoots 60 grains pills just fine.

Regards,
Kory

Its the bullet length...not the weight that determines the twist..the 12T should be fine for the 60 NPT....most barrel mfg's have a list for recommended twists...better to have a faster twist than a slower..

I have only tried one loading of 60gr. NPT in my Ruger 77 MKII varmint rifle and it did not like them at all. 3" group on a calm day at 100. I will work with it and try different loads but this was not encouraging.
