.063 de-prime pins- who makes the best?

I'm running a Dillon 650. We go through a lot of pins. Yes I know the alignment needs to be accurate but we go through many .063 pins.

Looking to buy the best .063 de-prime pins available- who makes the best?

I don't know who makes the best. But based on several recommendations, I bought the Mighty Armory decapping die for small flash hole brass and their pins.

The quality of it seems very high, but I've not actually used it yet and cannot comment on the durability.

I polished a standard Redding pin down to .060"-ish without a problem. Obviously left the half left in the stem alone and used some Red Locktite as well.

I bought a Mighty Armory decapping die a few years ago along with 2 different pins. They have a size that fits PPC brass. I have decapped 10,000+ cases & I have never broken a pin. I have even stuck a few burrowing a new flashhole on a severely plugged or off-center punched pistol case. Never a broke or damaged pin.

That being said, I don't know how that would adapt to a Dillion progressive or if Mighty Armory's own sizing die uses the same pin set-up as the decapper.

I got a e-mail from Mighty Armory this morning that they are having a July 4th sale thru Sunday. Code is TRUMP2020.
I sure enjoy my Pua decapping die from them, use it on both small and large primers.

I got tired of breaking the small flash hole pins on my Redding die, and ordered the Mighty Armory. I have decapped thousands of rounds with this die using a coax press, and have broken a total of 3 or 4 pins. It is still my favorite press decapping option, but their pins are not indestructable and can break.

I used to make them at work for free. They are made from whats called drill rod. The rod comes in different diameters. 0.063" (1/16"). A foot long will make a lot of pins. I cut them with an abrasive cut-off wheel. See if you can buy the rod on line. Most machine shops would probably have some. How do you break a pin. They should bend without breaking.

Did a Google search for drill rod. About 10 alloys made all from tool steel of some grade. The cheapest should be fine for pushing primers out.

I have been using Mighty Armory decapper for a couple of years with NO failure. Tough dye and my opinion is it is exceptional.

Is there something wrong with the 650? I have a 550b and single stages and have never broken a decap pin in 30 years of loading. And I load a lot!

With the pin in the flash hole I loosen then tighten the nut on top of the die. Hopefully this centers the pin and locks it in place.

You cannot break a pin if it is centered with the flash hole. It's hanging on a long rod.

Mighty Armory is the best. I bought 3 extra pins when I bought the decapping die. About 5k cases later, I am still on the original pin. They do not break or bend which means they don't screw up your flash hole either.
