Ruger, I need some variety but I like my Rugers

Thought I’d share by non rimfire Ruger revolvers. The super blackhawks are 41 mag, 44 mag and 45 colt from top to bottom. The left row is 41 mag Blackhawk, 45 colt Vaquero Gen 1 and a Bisley 45 colt. The Vaquero and the Bisley have custom grips. 4 have trigger jobs. I was never really a big bore pistol guy, always had fun with rimfire pistols growing up but never really played with center fire much. My Dad introduced me to 45 colts, then 41 mags and I have the 44 mag just because but I honestly shoot it the least. I shoot lighter handloads for the most part but have some stout loads too.

I’d really like to try Freedom Arms next and a S&W in 41 mag. I’ve shoot both but have never owned either. Freedom arms and their tolerances are mind boggling, at least to me they are.

Share your own. I’m sure many of you shoot the really big stuff, I don’t see myself going any bigger than these, just want to try some other makes even though I’ve been very happy with these.

I notice no Mk 1 - 3s, which are highly unlikable.

Bill Ruger should remain an extra 1,000 years in purgatory for those abominations.

**Hard to beat a Ruger revolver tho.** ( I think old Bill allowed the Mark series tofight the trend toward semis)
I grew up shooting a Mark 1, owned a Mark 3 later. I kinda liked them. I discovered a model 41 and that kind of spoiled me. Had buckmark 10” target I liked but today the only semi rimfire pistols I have is a 22/45, Mark IV hunter and Volquartsen black mamba, the later being a cut above for sure. I’d like to try some vintage rimfire pistols, just haven’t fed that fire.

The Mark 1 & 3 were a bear to tear down imo, that was a negative for sure.

What mount are you using to install your red dots?

Nice group of revolvers.

BTW, I have one of the 5.5" stainless Bisleys from 2004.
No it's not for sale.
Thanks.

There's an optional second screw that you can use but a hole has to be drilled and tapped on the top strap. I had it done on one but found that just the one screw and the cross pin is adequate.
The BFRs come with a rail for mounting an optic.

The only revolver I currently own. Bought from my grandfather, he is still around, he will be 90 soon. 686 in 357. I will most likely end up with my dads early 586 with a 4” barrel as my dad has passed away and my brother and I will split the guns, I am Going to guess my brother would want something different, but we haven’t got that far yet as to discuss it

Thanks for the link! They have an excellent gallery of pictures on a Ruger revolvers, I think I’m gonna try one.

When I saw the OP describing the 3 Supers (41, 44, 45 Colt), I immediately thought "they aren't all Supers". Then in the dim recesses of my mind I remembered Ruger did do funny stuff with the Hunters.

I converted all but 4 of my RBH's to red dots some years back, but I believe the maker of the mounts quit making them. For the life of me, I cannot remember the maker. I found it much easier to shoot accurately at longer yardages, so the ugly bump on top of a beautiful SA revolver got real easy to look at, so to speak.

EGW made some mounts for RBH's, but that wasn't the one's I used.

I got pretty good at doing trigger jobs safely, Powers free spin pawls on everything, tightening up the actions, and fitted grips on quite a few. I seem to remember lots of tiny white boxes of Bowen rear sights sitting around in my parts cabinet along with a small tray holding Clements and Garza custom sight blades.

More than any other gun, a RBH in all its forms, is a sickness to me. I am ashamed (that is a lie)! That got me into casting which became another sickness. I am glad I don't do drugs or drink excessively as I would have been dead years ago.

I wish this particular forum wasn't created (also a lie)....
