28 Nosler or 7 PRC

Just curious on some thoughts between the two. I’m wanting to build one for long range hunting and wanting to use the heaviest bullet possible which will probably be the Berger 195gr. These are the 2 I’m interested in and nothing else so if any has experienced with them I’m interested in your thoughts.
Thanks

The 7prc freebore is a bit better for the 195’s and has a brass availability advantage, 28 nosler freebore might have enough freebore but could need some additional throat work.

I’d probably pick the 7prc.

Run ADG brass and proper freebore for 195's in the 28 Nos it will stomp all over the PRC.
Your gonna need right around .300 freebore if I remember correctly for the 195's I dont even think the PRC has close to that I know the saami Nos doesn't not even close.

I'm shooting the 7 PRC 20" barrel suppressed. 180 gr VLD 2950 fps. Very efficient hunting tool.
Shorter rounds may be a little more efficient in shorter barrels. I'd not prefer the 28 Nosler unless using a 26" or longer barrel and then over all rifle length is a little long for my liking suppressed. My 2 cents. YMMV

The 7PRC has been nothing but underwhelming for me. The few I have done have liked the 180s at about 2850fps. You can push it faster but I have yet to find a really accurate node beyond that point before reaching pressure signs with several powders now. That 2850 node will stack em up but so will the 280 Ackley or 284 Win at that velocity while using quite a bit less powder. For one mile I would definitely opt for the 28 and just plan on buying a new barrel every few years.

my 7 STW has 258 rounds on it, including load development, chambered in 2002, killed a LOT of deer with this rifle, 140g C/T at 3650 fps. The lead has just a hint of fire cracking, barely a trace. I know the cartridge and loads it likes, which only took maybe 25 rounds to work up a load. Then hunt from year to year, verify zero.

My next will be a 7 Mashburn Super, love the long neck, throated for 162-168s.

A guy who shoots steel may not get 800 rounds on a barrel in a 28 Nosler.
