UPS

Kudos to my UPS driver. I ordered a new trigger for one of my rifles. The weather is really crappy and roads aren't the best. BUT.. the UPS driver on our route had my trigger. My house is a couple hundred yards from the main road and the snow plow pushed an 18 inch mound of snow across the end of my driveway. Of coarse if froze. Anyway the UPS driver couldn't drive up to my house. So, instead of marking it undeliverable, this man walked it up to my house through the snow. Good job UPS driver!!!

Every once in a in a while you find a good one. Tommy Mc

I have to brag on the Gas Co. guys that just left my house. Changing the gas service. Young hard working Hispanic guys. Conscientious, polite. Same w a group of plumbers here a few weeks ago. These guys are working their ass off, making good money. I wish more of the young crowd were as good as these guys that have been thru here last few weeks!!

My UPS guy did the same thing a few winters ago. 5 homes were snowed in and for a week he walked our stuff in. We each gave him what ever each of us could afford. Now it seems like the company is getting pretty strict about how they drive and get a point against their driving record for very minor incidents. You have to hand it to them for the great job they do.

Same here, UPS is top notch. USPS is hit and miss and FedEx is a total miss. Ordered dies from RCBS Amazon store on January 18, they were shipped got to Colorado on January 21 then radio silence until today in Ohio and just now got an email expecting them February 3. The Pony Express would have been faster. I’m in NY.

Ok, I have another story. I am a long time lawyer in N Texas. I do all kinds of work from my friends kids traffic tickets to murder cases, to real crazy litigation. In the late 80s I helped a young black woman. She had a felony assault case, which was 95% bullshit. I got it reduced to a misdemeanor. She was very young and had a few kids. We still stay in touch. I talked to her today. She is an assistant manager at McDonalds, is a grandmother and is doing great. I am so proud of her. There are success stories out there.

I take my hat off to McDonalds, UPS and Walmart. Those companies will take a person from the bottom part of society, and give them a chance. Our country is better for it.

Our story here, at least what we see on our daily pickup account is that I don't think that the service from UPS (overall) is what we had pre pandemic. This is true for many businesses, I suppose. We had the same driver through the pandemic. Recently he "bid" on another route (whatever that is), then got it. The drivers we have seen taking over for him until we get a regular driver, well, I don't think any are up to his standard. I know USPS has its faults, but we had better hope they stick around and work with us, as the other guys aren't going to ship long guns for us licensees. The USPS will.

Does anyone else here feel that UPS' standards have slipped in the last years?

Danny

Little gratuaties here & there make an amazing difference, bottle of cold water, can of soda, homemade chocolate chip cookies, Christmas candy. We do that for the regular mail girl, the regular UPS dude. Any of the service techs that come out. Kind words and atta boys & good old fashioned hand shake, with a big
THANK YOU goes a long long way. We are out in the country, have a good road & driveway with a circle drive out. Neighbors ea have nothing but cow paths, one of them forces delivery people to back out to turn around. The other driveway so bad delivery are left at the gate.

To all a good day!

Retired from UPS after 27 years in 2011

Rural/central Utah..pkg driver…racked up close 1.2M miles in those years

Great career…many memories…although UPS isn’t the same UPS anymore

Package volume is down now that Amazon uses their own drivers in most places

I get the straight skinny from my local drivers I stay in contact with

UPS is still a money machine though worldwide

And now delivery time is terrible from Amazon's new system. They are trying to blame the weather. Tracking shows items in a facility 60 miles north of me, same item several times. Weather is same 60 miles north.
